Went in today for a pre-booked MOT. Turned up 20 minutes early and was told politely the process and expected timescales. Was directed to a seat so I could see the MOT being carried out and watched the tech checking the car over thoroughly as you would expect - checking everything down to things like rear seat belts. Tim on reception was very accommodating and all the staff I met were pleasant and well presented. Also witnessed customers coming in and being given honest advice on what needed to be done with their cars which was good to see. From what I have seen it was an example of how to run a servicing operation and very happy with my experience.

I dropped the car off at Halfords at 8am for a service and MOT. I went to collect it at 1630 and it still wasnt ready and I had to wait until 5pm. Then I was told the garage had ordered the wrong oil filter so they changed the oil and put the old filter back on. I was told that I would receive a call after 3 days to bring the car back to change the filter. This is not ideal as I now have to arrange another car drop off and travel to work and pick up. Surely with the VRN, Halfords should be able to identify the correct service parts.

Really helpful and polite colleagues. Had an appointment booked but due to a long wait, one of the colleagues drove me back home which saved me a bus or taxi. After finding a new problem with the car, Tim invited me into the garage to talk it through. I didn't feel judged at all for not knowing the ins and outs of the parts and it was obvious that they just wanted to help. Really appreciate everything you have done, thank you Tim and Dylan.

Had a worst experience with Halfords in Filton. They don't take responsibility at all. I received mail confirmation for booking and they say I don't have an appointment. The staff keep saying they are very busy and hectic for them.. I don't know what customer is expected to do for their workload. Edit1: Its good that they didn't work on my car as their diagnosis was completely wrong. I booked into diagnose the warning sign and car being jerky and they suggested for fuel pump replacement. Later a good garage diagnosed it to be timing chain issue and done the work nicely. Never going to this place again.

Had a great experience at Halfords Autocentre Bristol (Filton) recently. I bought 4 Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres and got 4 wheel alignments as part of a deal. Normally, one tyre costs about £151, but they had an online offer where if you buy 4, you get 20% off, which brought each tyre down to £126, worked out way cheaper than any other garage or tyre shop I checked (apart from places selling part-worn tyres, which I wasn’t interested in). So in total, I paid £504 for tyres and £89 for wheel alignment, which came to £593 including labour. Shoutout to Dave at reception, absolute top bloke. He told me I didn’t actually need 4 wheel alignment, only 2, and refunded me part of the cost (can’t remember exactly how much but I think around £30-£40). Not many places would be that honest, really appreciated that. They’ve got tea and coffee in the waiting room, and even a live video feed so you can see what’s being done to your car, which I thought was a really nice touch. Quick tip: book your appointment online, you’ll get better deals on tyres (especially if you're buying a set of 2 or 4), and it's super easy to schedule your visit that way. Overall, brilliant service, great prices, and top customer care. Will definitely be back here again whenever I need tyres done. Highly recommend.

Absolutely appalling customer service from someone called Tim. Another new member of the team however David (I think he was called) was really helpful and lovely. Tim was rude and dismissive from the moment I dropped my car off to the moment I picked it up. When I asked if I could have the things taken of my job that didn’t need doing, he questioned me saying why it’s only £11!? Then when I asked to sit and wait he looked at me as if I was dumb and said well you’ll be waiting a long time, at the same time refusing to give me a time frame. I then walked an hour home as I felt I was not welcome to wait. On my return he was on the phone not once did he acknowledge I was stood there - aggressively moved bits of paper around till he found my report slammed it on the table along with my key. Proceeded to type something into the card machine then waved it at me. This the only time he acknowledged I was stood there. Safe to say I will not be returning or recommending to anyone else and a formal complaint has been made. I’m not the type to complain or be confrontational but I’ve never experienced this behaviour before. Tim was clearly having a bad day I only hope his week gets better! Edited the day after- having had a chance to calm down about the situation. The Halfords team dealing with my complaint have been wonderful. Very informative and proactive. I have also received a call from the centre who were apologetic. The rest of the team are brilliant it’s just a shame one person has given me such a terrible experience. Would now consider using them again as the rest of the service they provide is efficient.

Originally booked in to have my MOT at the beginning of the month and had to go elsewhere to get repairs done. However, the other garage did not undertake the repairs (despite charging me for it), making the retest they booked me in for instantly useless and I would have been left without a car over Christmas if it weren't for the team squeezing me in and managing to get me up and running just in time to drive home for Christmas. Cannot praise them enough.

After a bad experience with another Halfords Autocentre in Bristol last year, this one was so much better. Despite being over-stretched and unable to book me in to carry out the repairs needed to pass my MOT, they were able to fit me in for a retest quickly after I had the repairs done by another garage. And the fact they have an actual car park is always a bonus for any garage! Would definitely use them again.

Well what can I say! Absolutely shocking experience booked in for 4.30 after work response from a very unhelpful guy at the desk 'be about a 60~90 minute wait' I'll come back tomorrow. Appear the following day again will be 60~90 minutes wait for one tyre to be done. Went to Costa to a call to say the bolts are too tight and damaged the locking tool. More like impact gun has gone at it like a bull in a China shop. Took vehicle home removed other 3 locking bolts myself without any further damage to my locking tool and used a 12 point hollow torx to remove it myself with breaker bar and shock from 4lb lump hammer. Vehicle returned again and guess what 60~90 minute wait! Stick with people like Cabot or Ted's tyres in the future! I overheard it took 2hrs to do an mot! Never heard that excuse before so stay away is my response.
