   The “ladies only” swimming really isn’t ladies only. The door is see-through, so there’s no real privacy, and sometimes the lifeguard is male. On top of that, there are random male staff walking around cleaning while you’re swimming. It defeats the whole purpose of having a ladies only session and makes it quite uncomfortable. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for proper privacy.

   Just read the previous terrible review giving this lovely facility one star and felt I had to respond. This is a beautiful pool and it has a sauna and steam room. It is very clean and well maintained and the staff are so helpful and friendly. I attended an aquafit class here, then I had a swim and sauna. I left the building feeling very relaxed after all the exercise. The £63 membership that the one star reviewer referred to is a full fitness one- this means unlimited access to any pool, gym or fitness class in the city run by Edinburgh Leisure. Pure Gym only offer gym facilities- there is no pool so there are no aquafit classes there. I would not imagine that they are able to provide the range of classes that Edinburgh Leisure do- at Leith Victoria in addition to Aquafit they run Pilates, yoga, Group cycle, RPM, Zumba and many others. I regularly use both the pool at Warrender and attend classes at the Royal Commonwealth Pool and I was very impressed by this facility and will definitely be back.

   £10 each to get in for non members for the pool which isn’t too bad. However, the pool was very busy meaning there were too many people in the lanes to enjoy it. The steam room and sauna are tiny and not that hot at all, don’t really see why they bother have either when they clearly don’t have the space

   Used to be a member here. Went to re apply to find the price was £65 but if you were anything other than a normal tax paying person the whole facility was completely free. (Immigrant, refugee, foreign, disabled, on benefits had a gp note, over a set age, under a set age, as advertised on their website) so I decided to go elsewhere and thought that I had already been taxed enough and signed up to pure gym down the road where everyone pays the same for their memberships and has the same right to be there and is treated as an equal. To which the price is only £26 for 24 hour access for a much larger and equipped gym.

   Really nice facility but so expensive for a charity. Over £65 per month (not including joining fee) if you want gym and classes and no option to forgo pool cost. The gym is well equipped but small and closes at 5pm at the weekend. Pure gym at ocean terminal is £22 per month so it’s so hard to justify despite being my closest/preferred option.

   Your pool female members of staff and most female instructors need some serious boundary and respect training as some of them are creepy, almost obnoxious, very intrusive and/or rude. They could learn some of these things from you male members of staff who are on the contrary outstanding, lovely, friendly without crossing boundaries, welcoming and genuinely helpful. This is a shame as I quite enjoyed coming here for a swim and few fitness classes, but after yet another shocking experience today, I don't think you'll see me in the pool anytime soon. Luckily, there is still a gym in your facility full of helpful and respectful male staff members who kinda saves the day for me, so I won't be changing the gym just yet, but getting very close to that decision.

   Will earn an extra star when the sauna and steam room can reopen! Lovely pool with really friendly staff. A must visit if you want to experience Edinburgh's unique swim centres.
