This is a dog park. People let their dogs off the leash and there is dog poop and pee everywhere. If you are ok with riding in or walking in dog poop, enjoy the dog park.
Fascinating park that used to be an estate. Remnants of the past including old bent iron fences, large trees planted by the estate, sections of forest, meadows, a creek, everything one needs for a quick nature escape from the city.
Love walking here. So does the dog! Coffee shop is good too!
Would have gave it a rating of 5 but the toilets let the park down gents cubicle toilet seat is loose and slides above and the floor has constant puddle due to leaks. The park its self is lovely and peaceful and full of nature, and nicely shaded on hot days.

Amazing valley right in the city. As soon as you enter you can feel like you've travelled out into the countryside, completely removed from the pace of the city. The main path takes you right along the Braid Burn, with stunning valley slopes and trees on either side.
Family picnic area with very nice walk ways through to Blackford Hill and Pond and great 360 views over Edinburgh. Very popular with dog walkers and joggers, the park is very well maintained throughout the year.
Go walking here regularly as my wee dog absolutely loves it it's got water, woods and embankments galore which is just her thing. Always meet lovely friendly people, dogs and families. Only drawback no toilets
Great green oasis. Lovely central path with walks up on banks on both sides too. Places of interest like ice house, dovecote and rangers house. Lots of birds include herons and dippers. Lovely forest with carpet of bluebells in the spring. Fast flowing stream through the middle. One place where dogs can be allowed off the lead. Now added bonus of a nice cafe at the front gate.
