Could be a lovely park, but it doesn't seem to be looked after and and don't think I've ever seen so many rats in my life.
Very easy to access and get a peaceful view. We frequently see a blue heron here and have had the experience to watch it walk down the hiking paths into the woods. There are no longer swans, but we've seen lots of ducks and other birds. There is a nice play area for kids as well.
A good place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
its great here, but we took our underwater camera drone and did see a very strange (non-native?) fish
Blackford Pond lies in the shadow of Blackford Hill and is one of Edinburgh's most beautiful green spaces. The pond itself has a path all the way around it and is popular with walkers, dog owners and particularly families with small children who will love to see the water and the swans, ducks and other wild fowl that inhabit the area. There is also a small play park on site. Parking is available outside the north gate and the 38 bus stops nearby.
