Grounds kept well, shower and toilet blocks ok. Decent facilities. Pitches not clearly marked out though, so we had someone next to us overpaid a little, which meant we had to as they weren't around to speak to. We went after school summer holidays to ensure it wasn't too noisy, but had a few families with very young kids running around screaming late and very early next morning. Not the parks fault of course - fully on the parents - but would be reluctant to stay again because of that

Had a great time white water rafting with a group of friends, haven’t done it before so was a bit apprehensive but it was lots of fun! Our experienced guide Liam was first rate, explained everything well and helped us get the best out of the rapids, 5 star! Would definitely recommend and looking at when we can return already!

Very disappointed after our recent stay. The toilets and showers were filthy. It was evident that the toilets have not been cleaned for quite some time. Also there was no soap in any of the dispensers. We ended up having to go off site to find toilets as they were not up to human hygiene standards very disappointing.

The site itself is lovely. But it's unfortunately let down by a few points. The pitches first of all aren't clear. When we arrived, the people pitched next to us had parked on our pitch, due to the lack of zoning. We used the shop, which is quite expensive but exactly what you'd expect from a captive audience, but the woman running the shop was rude and clearly uninterested. The rules on keeping the noise down were not enforced, with the people next to us watching their television rather loudly until midnight both nights of our stay. The biggest issue we had however was the toilet and shower blocks. They aren't cleaned often enough, in fact I believe they are only cleaned once a day, and very badly at that. They absolutely stank, I'd hate to have been pitched near by as you can smell them as you're walking toward them. The site state they've recently refurbished the block, they haven't, they have simply added another block outside the existing block, which really needs totally refurbishing. It's a shame there were the issues with cleanliness, as the site itself is beautiful and really well located.

We camped on the site, which is a decent 20 minute steady walk to the Lake for Paddle boarding and White water rafting. I recommend booking in advance as the place is really popular. The camp site is basic but has electric hook ups and there is a toilet and shower block, play park, shop, and loads of open spaces for kids to play. The watersports themselves were great, and decent value for the time we got. On the saturday we hired paddleboards and a kayak to keep us all entertained, it was great fun and a nice way to cool off in the heat! We hired a raft on the Sunday and I'd like to say a special mention to Sam the Instructor who was great! He kept us all entertained whilst teaching us how to be safe on the water. And overall he made the experience one to remember for the kids and the adults! Well done Sam, highly recommended! My daughter also had a go on the Sky Tykes trail which she loved, worth mentioning it’s attached to a cafe selling food & sweet treats, ice creams & waffles, and the odd lager & cider to cool off! Sam also provided knowledge of the wider area including a mention for the Poppy & Pint pub which we visited and also enjoyed! In all we had a really pleasant sunny weekend and I would recommend a visit.

Parking too expensive. Not enough dog waste or other bins, toilets not open. Wasn't great.

Places there are never open, they charge you £5/to walk your dog. Place always seems like a ghost town, with very few people ever using it. Shame as could be a real tourist trao for Nottingham, shame the Council messed it up and now in private hands doesn't seen that much better.

Stayed at the accommodation. More like a hostel than a hotel which is a shame given the scenery and surroundings. Little 16 inch TV on the wall. Everything is very very basic. No chance of opening your windows because the amount of spiders and flies you would be overrun. Free use of Gym which is good. Staff are very friendly which is only reason giving 2 stars.

Large nature reserve with varied habitats. Well marked paths & plenty to see. Service in the visitor centre can be a bit slow at busier times but food & coffee are very good

Large campsite with good size hard pitches. Lots of negatives. Tents mixed with caravans and motor homes, dogs off leads, toilets and showers poor ( dirty) although hot water ok. Speed limits on site ignored and vehicles coming and going at all hours. Shop a joke and staff completely uninformed. Example: " what's grey water?"! Unless you want to be right at the water centre go elsewhere.
