Tried to cancel my Nuffield membership today after numerous issues which others have outlined. Was told straight off that I can’t cancel as I’m under contract. I don’t recall signing anything which said I was under obligation to Nuffield for a year so I asked for my contract. Now I have no idea who this person is behind the desk, but just as other reviews have suggested, the staff here need some serious training or maybe the whole club just needs to be renewed in regards to staff. When I asked for my contract, the brunette woman at the desk gave me a face of complete attitude and I’m assuming the manager who deals with cancellations then showed me a blank contract. Again I asked to see my own contract. I’m then getting attitude again as if I’ve seriously inconvenienced them all. Let’s get something straight. If you legally hold someone to a contract ; make sure you can actually find it and if said client is actually PAYING for a service don’t sneer and serve attitude out. They’re all currently faltering around and no one can show me a signed contract. Unbelievable.

The wellbeing class today was an outstanding class combining strength, endurance, conditioning and isometric exercises to name a few. The instructor Callum encouraged us to really challenge ourselves, and I definitely felt it! I pushed hard throughout and finished with shaky legs — the best sign that the workout really worked. A fantastic session for anyone looking to build strength and fitness. Highly recommended!

I have had the most incredible experience with the Nuffield Health Joint Pain Programme, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was met with such warmth and professionalism. What really stands out is the personalized attention and genuine care the staff show. The reception staff, Zara and Leona, greet you with smiles and by name and make me feel right at home. They are both so friendly and approachable, and they take great care of you while you are in the centre. Callum Hunter, my Wellbeing Personal Trainer, was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge and expertise in managing joint pain were evident from the start. He took the time to understand my specific needs and tailored a programme that worked for me. His encouragement and support made a huge difference in my progress. I felt like I was in great hands throughout the entire process. There are a variety of classes offered at Nuffield Health which are run by professional, highly knowledgeable trainers who not only bring energy and motivation to every session but also take the time to ensure that each participant is working safely and effectively. Each class is thoughtfully structured to challenge you while still being accessible to different fitness levels. The trainers are clearly passionate about what they do—they offer great technique tips, modifications when needed, and constant encouragement throughout. I also want to give a special mention to the gym staff, including Leo, Craig, and Katie. They are always willing to offer helpful tips, demonstrate exercises, and provide guidance whenever needed. They truly go above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable and safe during your time in the gym. The level of engagement with the staff makes a huge difference and keeps me motivated to keep coming back.

The Nuffield joint pain program!!!. I am 54 hadn't been to gym in years and was nervous to start on my own. The weight was piling on and with arthritis i didn't even know what exercises I would be able to do. This has been fantastic id encourage you to get your name down. There are all ages and different abilities in our group. Callum the PT is fantastic, we go to him twice a week and i am.now confident to.use the machines on my own. It's honestly life changing, I do not have any complaints at all. Do it!! I feel so much better in myself for starting it.. xx

Pool classes impossible to access and gym not prepared to do anything about the issues

Love pool and great range of classes offered although need to book early 8 days in advance

Very poor levels of poolside hygiene are continuing with no obvious attempt to communicate clearly that showers must be taken before entering pool. The whole feel is of a club that's going downmarket...the pool of an evening is now distinctly smelly and is cloudy as people are jumping straight in from saunas and wallowing in it after sweating in the hot tubs. Having complained several times nothing is done about this. It may present a health concern in the near future if no tangible action is taken to stop it.

Staff and personal trainers are really good and helpful. Unfortunately, I find the gym floors (especially mats) and changing room floors really dirty. Even in the private areas, the same hair and dust bits are there for weeks. I have never seen anyone mop the changing room floors. There should be regular cleaning as people are coming all day, seven days a week. The BT Sports situation is just ridiculous. I always have to ask for the sports to be put on, sometimes someone will come and put it on and other times no one really bothers. You cannot get the sports on the CV machines. It would be good if someone could just check now and again that the sports is on. After all the gym is all about sports. Plus, it is a selling point for getting new members. The air conditioning system is a bit odd, too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. I have been let down by the booking system for swimming lessons in the past. Probably not a bad thing since some kids got left at the pool on their own. No one ever got back to me regarding the feedback card I filled in. The nutritionist, Mary, never got back to me when I wanted to sign up to her course. Unfortunately, Niall who was brilliant, had a lot of new ideas but has now left. I would have scored 2.5 out of 5, if I could but the trainers are really helpful so it brings the score up.

Updating my review following the recent refurbishment. The quality of the machines has definitely improved. Unfortunately, ever since the work, the air conditioning seems to be constantly broken - which is pretty useless in a gym over the middle of summer. In addition, they've totally cut down on the number of cardio machines. It can already be really difficult to find a running machine at times, and I suspect that will only get worse when it gets to winter. Increasing my rating to 3 stars because of the improvement to the condition of the machines, but still a lot to fix.
