We had a one night stay this week with friends, the location was excellent. The bridge leading up to the hotel overlooks the weir and river and is picturesque. There is a large outside seating area as well which gets busy in the summer months we were told. The bar and restaurant area have character, we ate in the restaurant and the menu had plenty of choice and the food was tasty. Service could be improved the staff were overrun and we had to chase up for water on the table 3 times We stayed in room 13, the room itself is very spacious and overlooks the weir. It has the original beams. The rest of the room didn't quite match the cotswold feel of the hotel and the beams, furniture felt a bit flat pack style, some of the lamps didn't work, the room itself was cold and took ages to heat up. The bathroom decor was a bit 80's again not in keeping with the hotel but the did provide Bramley toiletries which is local and very good quality Tea and coffee was provided and the home made biscuits were delicious We were looking forward to breakfast, on arrival the fruit and pastries options were bare, it took a while to top those up. We ordered drinks and cooked breakfast which took ages to come, after a while it appeared the order wasn't put in and so was submitted again. The order came out slightly wrong and was put right. The staff are friendly but my feedback would be that they could do with brushing up on communication as our breakfast order wasn't submitted and we had a double order of Coffee's when we had only ordered 1 top up. Overall a nice hotel but could do with some improvement to make it up to the standard one would expect in the Cotswolds

We have just celebrated a family Christmas dinner party here in the upstairs room. Beautiful setting, a lovely large space, wonderful service and delicious food from their festive menu. Nothing was too much trouble and they accommodated gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, kids meals and dog friendly. Lauren made the organising seamless and the bar staff were super. Thank you, we had a great time and looking forward to returning again soon.

Stayed for 2 nights including guests at wedding held in the venue . Arrived to a friendly welcome, we had already been informed we would be staying in 2 separate rooms for each night as we declined to stay in a room over the a party on the Friday night. Our room was clean spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. We ate in the restaurant the food was divine. Saturday morning we had a lovely full English breakfast, returned to out room to change for the wedding, we packed up our bags left them in our room and whilst in the ceremony staff moved us to our second room. This was a slightly larger room with lovely oak beams above the dance floor- as we were guests to the event we knew we wouldn’t be bothered by any noise as we would stay dancing until kicking our time. Room was lovely, clean and again an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast again was excellent although we were delivered tea instead of the coffee ordered. As a hotel venue I would highly recommend. As a wedding venue the rooms were set out beautifully, the food for both formal meal and evening buffet were superb and all staff were exceptional. Friendly, helpful and fun and my incredibly hard working making the Bride and Grooms day go exactly as they planned. Fabulous weekend all round.

Visited for a large family gathering. Christmas menu- food was lovely. Hot and it all came out pretty much together even though there were 20 of us. Lovely venue. Great setting. Lots of parking.

We had a lovely stay here the rooms were clean cosy and great facilities. The pub itself is such a nice atmosphere. We ate on a Sunday so roasts were still available if your a big portion eater the trio roast is a must but I had the pork and it was cooked to perfect with a lovely bit of crackling on top.

We had a party of 22 for my Daughters 18th birthday meal. We have used Egypt Mill many times for various functions. Sunday surpassed our expectation. The new decor was tasteful the staff were exceptional. Food and service was faultless. Thanks so much Ben and the team for making us feel so welcome. We will be back.

Beautiful setting. Tasty light bites. Professional staff. Worth a visit but beware its entrance is easy to miss once you've turned off the main road as entrance is so subtly signed, leading me (and others) to end up in residential estate on first attempt to reach it. Turn and drive past a red brick building, looking like you are driving into an industrial estate but ahead lies the hidden gem!

Firstly this place is so unique,it's like no other place I've been before. Quirky mill restored to this current hotel and restaraunt. Food was beautifully cooked and presented. Good food delivery wait time, staff were attentive and lovely. Grounds well maintained. Beautiful lighting in the evening, bridges to have pictures on. Plenty of outside seating areas. A warning for tall people, this venue has quite a few low ceilings/doorways. There is a stair lift for persons requiring this to access the hotel bedrooms and upper level bar/lounge area. A great place to stay, eat and enjoy the surroundings.
