   A spa hotel experience is supposed to be a relaxing occasion. We arrived early for a sandwich prior to an introduction to our room. The bar and lounge areas were surprisingly packed with families with children running around , screaming and were welcomed by a waitress who said ' don't know if there is a table available but if you can fi d one take a seat'!! We did find a seat and eventually 10 minutes later I asked for menus. My wife ordered jacketed thick chips and skinny chips arrived. My wife explained what she had ordered and the male waiter took them back. We finished our meal and then the waitress arrived and asked if our food was OK, we explained about the chips and was told 'there are only skinny chips' so back they came again ! Despite being told that the housekeeper had been notified of our arrival so that priority would be given to our room, we returned to the desk 3 times before eventually having the keys at 14:55. We passed a porter at the bottom of the stairs laden with cases, he just smiled as we mounted the stairs! OK, let's relax by the pool. Only 4 beds, one was available. A lovely relaxing swim for 5 minutes THEN over 15 kiddies came in screaming, shouting, we even had parents jumping into the pool with no regard for other. Tried reading but far to noisy, retreated upstairs, much better. Another point, there are no steps into the pool. My wife has walking difficulties so she couldn't use the pool. Down for dinner, the restaurant staff had segregated the noisy kids to one section of the restaurant but still kids running around the place. Not the restaurants fault, but parents have no idea how to get children to behave. The food was delicious. My wife had two treatments which she said was excellent with the facial treatment being the best she's ever had. The rooms were well prepared. Most of all, the staff were so friendly, and very helpful, couldn't be faulted. We mentioned the above to a staff member and it was agreed that the Calcot 'is not a spa like a spa retreat should be'. The facilities are excellent BUT, it is not managed as a Spa Hotel, it is a Family Hotel with excellent facilities for the family. If you are wanting a relaxing Spa experience, I'm sorry, but Calcot, despite being as expensive or perhaps more expensive than quality Spa facilities, isn't the package you are looking for.

   Calcot Manor offers an exceptional experience with matched service. It is a beautiful setting. We always enjoy using the gym / spa and then finishing off in The Hive” for a coffee / bite to eat. The staff in the Hive are fantastic “Amelia” being one of the many whom always greet us with a smile and warm service. We highly recommend a visit.

   Spent a few days at Calcot & Spa both for some down time and a birthday treat for the other half. We had a wonderful time. Service in both the hotel and the spa was excellent and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Between the spa treatments, the excellent new gym, the pool and the tennis courts, we had loads to do. Very comfortable and spacious rooms. The food was great, both at The Brasserie and The Hive. We will definitely be back, maybe in spring time.

   We have just returned from the most relaxing stay at Calcot! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt completely spoilt. We were greeted at the gates by 2 lovely men who took our bags straight to our room and the 5 star treatment carried on from there. Every request we had was fulfilled with efficiency and enthusiasm! All the little extras made the trip truly special. From our room upgrade to the little birthday present left for our daughter - what a treat. We visited the Playbarn on our arrival and were so impressed with the kindness and attentiveness of the team. We left our daughter for a couple of hours each morning so we could enjoy a relax in the spa. Although she was a bit nervous they did everything they could to make her feel welcome and happy. By the end she was asking to go back again! Such an amazing facility which made it feel like a proper break for 2 tired parents! My one small suggestion would be that it would be nice to have a vanity area in the Barnsley cottage so I could sit and do my hair/makeup, in such a big and luxurious space I would have expected this. But that really is the only thing I would have changed! Thank you Calcot, we will definitely be back!

   Just returned from a midweek winter bubbles package stay at calcot spa , and I’m never one to leave reviews but I had to leave a review on this place, myself and my boyfriend cannot stop talking about it we had the best stay and experience here. From the minute we checked in until the minute we checked out (even giving us a mini gift bag for our journey home). Every little thing in this hotel is thought about in so much detail and beautifully and it didn’t go missed by us. We were greeted with a room upgrade which we were over the moon by this never happens to us! And the room was ready for us early as we arrived around 12:30 so this was a nice surprise. We had the avening room and I was in awe it was so beautiful the bathroom, the bed was the best sleep I’ve had in a long time and all the little amenities given like hot chocolate and snacks. The spa was beautiful and so chilled , I had a treatment from Megan who was amazing the massage was brilliant and all the facilities were immaculate . It was quiet and a bar available we couldn’t have asked for anything else. Every single staff member was so lovely and helpful so I wanted to point this out, all the spa staff reception and bar and restaurants. We had the afternoon tea which was gorgeous and some nibbles sat by the fire which were so tasty. It truly was our dream stay, it had a lovely relaxed environment and nothing was too much trouble. The grounds are incredible and we were lucky we had nice weather the next morning so it was even more beautiful. There is too much I could say about our stay! We are definitely going to be making our trip to calcot An annual trip and hope the winter bubbles package will still be available, we are from up north and it was definitely worth our journey down!    Calcot & Spa is an absolute wonderful retreat for both relaxing and dining. We spent a fabulous two nights here and couldn’t fault a thing. The staff were so friendly & couldn’t do enough for us, making our stay even more special. So many memories to take away with us, we can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you all so much

   We spent Christmas Day at Calcot , we had an absolutely perfect lunch , the staff were all very friendly and helpful , whilst still being very relaxed creating a very welcoming, pleasant and homely atmosphere. Our meal was fabulous. Our whole experience was faultless. Thank you to all at Calcot for making our Christmas Day extra special.

   Amazing! All the staff were so lovely and our little 10 month old has the best time in the play barn. The listening service was so great, meaning me and my husband could enjoy the lovely food with our young one tucked up in bed. Would definitely come back and have told all my friends to book a stay! The trim trail made a great run and nap walk. Thanks again and to all the lovely staff.

   Calcot & Spa was the perfect setting and location to send our parents for the 50th Wedding Anniversary present. Comfortable, stunning location, stunning service, friendly and welcoming at every corner and turn. Delicious food, well presented and just the right portions. I joined them for Afternoon Tea which did not disappoint. As good as it was the first time I tried it earlier in the year. The chefs know how to make the perfect scones and patisseries. We couldn’t have asked for more to help them celebrate. Thank you to the entire team. And especially to Deborah for her efficient and quick responses to my never ending questions. Thank you.
