   I viewed a flat with Bowerhouse a while ago and was really taken aback by how rude the staff member was. She barely engaged during the viewing and when the next people arrived, she didn’t even say goodbye or acknowledge me, just ignored me completely. It came across as arrogant and unprofessional. Based on that experience alone, I wouldn’t want to rent through this company.

   We rented a property through Bowerhouse and had to move out due to abuse from Jenny Bower. When we first moved in our fridge wasn't working and there was no hot water. This was eventually fixed 2 weeks later after multiple emails and phone calls. We then had structural problems with the house which caused damp and mold, the whole time we were blamed for our "lifestyle" and expected to pay to run a large industrial dehumidifier to dry out the wall while waiting months for a contractor to come and fix the walls outside. We also had no hot water or heating again for multiple months, despite us calling and emailing multiple times with video and photo proof. She called us liars and complained that we were wasting her money on sending out plumbers. Our fence had also blown down into our neighbours garden to which Bowerhouse also did nothing for 6 months, much to our neighbours annoyance. Jenny eventually gave us a release from the contract early once we threatened legal action however there was 0 responsibility taken on her part. To add insult to injury she kept making snide comments about my disabled partner as well as our income despite us never having an issue with affordability. Stay away from this agency at all costs!!

   I found out about Bowerhouse via Rightmove. The lady who presented the first flat in Bath is called Georgina Barstow. I actually loved the first flat but the rooms were a bit too narrow. I then discovered another flat for rent soon after and Georgina was quick to help us see the flat and secure it for us. She helped us navigate the tenancy agreement and get a full itinerary check. Her team at Bowerhouse were helpful and quick to respond. All very smooth. If I was a landlord I would definitely use their services!

   I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. We used them to manage our property when we moved to NZ early this year. From the first appointment for the house valuation to the end of the tenancy, Bath City Lets (Nathalie Thompson) have been great. Friendly, professional, thorough, good communication, reliable, goes the extra mile and easy to work with. My only regret is not being able to use their service longer due to the sale of the house. I would definitely recommend them to manage your property and would definitely use their service again.

   Use this local independent business- compared to larger chain letting agencies your experience will be so much better, communication especially. As a tenant, Bath City Lets have been fair and helpful from the start to the finish of our letting with them. They answer the phone right away, were especially responsive about dealing with repairs. All of the people I worked with there managed to find the right line between being understanding and friendly but also professional. Thank you Bath City Lets for the big and little things you are doing right!

   I highly recommend BCL having used them for eight years. Sue and Nathalie are very personable, efficient and their experience in the industry is borne out by my always having had lovely tenants who are the ‘right fit’ for my property. As an overseas landlord this is imperative and especially so during recent times. In July I have a new tenant moving in whom Nathalie secured within a week of the launch after a very positive response to the viewings she did. I have not had an issue with any of the team who for me all play their part to run a very good operation for both landlords and tenants.
