   Wooden training equipment is fantastic to use and the woods selected by BMF can be absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, two grumbles without which I would have given five stars. £9 UK delivery for a £25 item is pretty steep. I know I accepted it by placing the order but there is no denying it is pricey! The first ever order I made was for some of the solid Cedar Tai Chi training balls - listed as the premium/highest quality ball. Stunning, figured wood but as it has dried over time, ENORMOUS cracks have appeared as the wood has shrunk and sap still oozes from the bottom. Smells nice but makes the ball sticky. Clearly the wood was not fully dried before manufacture. This has happened to varying degrees in every ball I bought. These are not hairline cracks that can be managed with a bit of beeswax. I am expecting one of the large balls to fall in half at any moment as it has developed a crack nearly 50% of the circumference and almost 1cm wide! Fortunately I also bought one of the laminate balls which has been fantastic! All in - some very good points, some not so good.

   I’ve gotten to know Pete from a recommendation from my gym in Bath. Not only is BMF the place to go to great quality equipment, the courses he puts on are absolutely inspiring. Just finished a 2 day workshop with BMF and Body Development in Bath, although tiring I’ve come out of it full of energy and enthusiasm for all things related to clubs, maces/ gadas. Thanks Pete
