I’ve been here before and the service and food have always been great. The menu wasn’t updated on the website even though it said December 2025 and there were not many great vegetarian choices on the Christmas menu. Really disappointed and wished we had booked elsewhere.

Came to the Cow and Plough for a baby shower lunch. What a lovely place, the food was delicious and the staff are really friendly and helpful. All dietary requirements were kindly catered for and food came out promptly. Really happy we chose to come here for the lunch, everyone really enjoyed it and we will come again! Thank you

Thank you so much for the delicious cream tea on my birthday! It was absolutely excellent. I've had cream tea at the Waldorf hotel before, but yours was 100% better! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to indulge in a lovely treat. If you're planning to try it, I advise booking it at The Cow and Plough – you won't be disappointed! Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and for making my birthday so special.

The Sunday roast was well done, but it was impossible to enjoy the food or atmosphere as the indoor place where we were seated was plagued by flies and the staff simply shrugged at our requests for help - parents may appreciate that mealtimes with young children are quite stressful without having to also keep flies away. Food portions were generous, including the children's meals. Plenty of parking despite the place being quite packed.

I organised a baby shower for a lovely friend of mine. The service I was given was outstanding. Janice’s response to emails was amazing. She helped so much. The chef who made our afternoon was also very accommodating, especially with the mum-to-be having gestational diabetes. I have to say it’s the first place that has accommodated for gestational diabetes for the afternoon tea and made a separate dessert. Some lovely banana bread. The amount of sweet treats you get in their afternoon tea is more than you would ever get anywhere else. I would definitely recommend eating there too. The Sunday roasts are amazing too.

Cool rustic pub just on the outskirts of Leicester. Only serve pizza before 6pm, however pizza very very good. Excellent selection of beers and spirits. Don't accept cash for some reason. Have nice seats with wood burners. Very comfortable atmosphere.

Wow, just wow! Arrived in our motorhome and was shown a secluded area just off the main road that we could park in. It has a lake and beautiful areas to walk in. They've got lots happening here with there very own shop with natural honey and veggies that they grow on site. The food was fabulous, but most of all the hospitality here is incredibly attentive! Will definitely be back for a video for the website very soon

Me and my friends visited here last night for some food and drinks, it was beyond phenomenal. We had such a great time and the food was exceptional, the best food I have ever eaten in a pub. Thanks to Gareth, Ben and their team for such a great night!

Hands down the worst meal I’ve ever been served in a restaurant. Reading the reviews sounds like it happens a bit too often but hope we just were unlucky. Please please if you go never never order the burger. You will 100% be disappointed. And the broccoli. I have no words. The person who cooked it certainly wasn’t a chef. Saying this, the poor front of house staff were lovely and dealt with this catastrophe very well. I feel for them.
