Not visited this pub in over 18 months with my family. Lovely food and warm environment. Our server was Marie, she was very friendly and helped us with our menu choices. Will definitely visit again soon.

Had an absolutely brilliant time at the pub thanks to the amazing team behind the bar. Tia, Holly and Carys were outstanding all evening — super friendly, quick on service, and genuinely made the atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. Definitely coming back — thanks again to Tia, Holly and Carys for making it such a great experience!

Lovely food but understaffed. I visited around 3pm and the place just seemed to get more messy. Dirty tables everywhere. Another lady I assume a manager arrived around 4 and got straight to tidying the place up whist the other staff were chatting on the bar. Overall nice visit just need more staff.

The hotel side of the business is very good. Easy check in on Monday afternoon and stayed in a very quirky room. The floor had a bit of a slope to it so had to treasure carefully. The bathroom ceiling is low so being 6' meant I kept banging the ceiling as I washed my hair! Room was lovely though and very comfortable. What knocks the score is the food and service. Breakfast on Tuesday was a long time coming and it was almost cremated! Dinner on Tuesday was even slower, nearly 50 minutes to serve a steak and ale pie and chips. Could understand if it was busy, but really not that many in. Overall it's good but I'd eat elsewhere.

Very good value comfortable rooms. Great menu and good choice of beers. Very friendly staff. Free parking at rear. Very convenient for station, 10 min train to Leicester. Some noise from bar, to be expected, quiet after 10.45pm. Will definitely return when next in the area.

On a positive note, the food was really good, the staff friendly and the room was quiet. Unfortunately, they are about the only positives I can give. The mattress was old with springs sticking out making for an incredibly uncomfortable sleep, towel rails and plug sockets were hanging off the walls. The shower was shocking with really unreliable water pressure and temperature with the hot water tap barely functioning. On top of that, a faulty fire alarm kept setting off the whole building at 1am causing us to be completely unable to sleep. We were fully prepared for some noise due to the time of year but this really took the cake. We also received a voucher for money off a meal which, when we went to use it, they could not scan or enter manually and instead just charged the full price which I was happy to pay as the food was pretty good however, you'd expect there to be a workaround with the manager in an instance that their own voucher isn't working on their tills. UPDATE: Just to update on this. I emailed them as requested in their reply to this review. Never heard back from them via email, phone, nothing. Avoid at all costs.

Just gotten to the hotel and had issues with payment which got sorted. Got into room and first appearance was okay till I started noticing marks and stains all over walls. Don't even want to know what they are. Worlds smallest TV but doesn't bother me as won't be using it. Bathroom door doesn't shut and can't be forced so my privacy is slightly limited. Door handle fell off and luckily I was wearing shoes as screws would have hurt me when they fell and so would the handle. Marks on Bath tube and marks all over wall in bathroom. Going to speak to someone tomorrow about it as its not on. Noise levels are pretty bad and I'm staying here for work so will be getting up early. Giving it two stars as staff are very polite but rooms are definitely letting it down.

Visited the pub for food and drinks on a Sunday lunchtime. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. The food itself was ok - however the quality of the chicken wasn't the best. The dessert however was very good.

It a ok place to have a cheap and cheerful meal, very hit and miss, last time we were served the wrong food but was sorted out. Never seems to be enough staff on so long wait to order drinks.
