What a lovely place to stay. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was cosy with a fabulous very comfy huge king size bed. Everything was fresh and clean , and a request for decaf tea bags in the room was happily accommodated. A proper Yorkshire hearty breakfast. Definitely filled you up for the start of the day and a walk around reservoir and moors. It was all excellent, with a special mention for the bacon, sausages and field mushrooms.

Just a very quick one night stay here. Very welcoming pub set out mostly for food but still with character. The food was really good with a nice selection and very tasty. The bedroom was a good size and we had a super king bed which was comfy, and it’s tastefully decorated. The only slight down for us was traffic noise which started quite early - but that comes from a country bumpkin! Worth noting, it’s two flights of 14 steps to get to the bedrooms

Had a very good overnight stay just after new year on bbevening meal deal. Excellent value. All the staff were brilliant. The place is quirky having been in use as a inn since 1820s. All the rooms are on the second floor which involves climbing a lot of stairs. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom we had was big but a little dated but all very clean. Our evening meal was excellent. Looking forward to booking Sunday lunch in the future. The outside areas looked good but it was January and typical Yorkshire weather rain!!!!!

Visited for a pun lunch on a cold and snowy Saturday in December. Loved the Christmassy pub vibes! The food was more than good enough but nothing special - a few of the steaks ordered on our table weren't cooked as ordered. The staff were great and service in general was great.

We arrived late to a warm welcome. Room was lovely as was the service. Breakfast was delicious and plentyfull. With self service juice, tea, coffee and cereal. Then cooked stuff on order. Great staff who went above and beyond. Would visit again.

Went for a Sunday lunch and had the 3 meat roast the pork was very fatty, there were no pigs in blankets, when the waitress was informed of the two issues there was no response. We then ordered the chocolate fudge pudding only to receive a cheesecake which was very nice..... but. Normally we have a faultless experience but now wondering about returning as it's not the cheapest place.

We recently got married her and we can't recommend it enough. We had 40 people and there was plenty of room for the wedding ceremony. Great location, beautiful inside area, very intimate.Outside garden area and plenty of parking. Beautiful place for a wedding. The Manager/Owner was amazing and so helpful throughout. All the staff were amazing, everything ran seamlessly ...amazing! The wedding breakfast was outstanding! Absolutely outstanding! All the guests commented on presentation, taste and portion sizes. We stayed night prior to the wedding and the accommodation was beautiful. A huge thank you to all the staff for making our day special and a huge massive thank you to Andy who showed us a great place to take some wedding photos which was 2-3 minutes in the car...perfect! Absolutely stunning place for photographs.
