The food here was incredible! I had the vegan pecking duck and vegan salt and pepper prawns. The man who served me was absolutely lovely.
The food here is delicious, so full of flavour! It was piping hot and everything came in massive portions. They take cash or card which is so helpful. First time here and will definitely be back!
Ordering from very northern Cardiff and always had a good meal even with it being a new takeaway (you get so used to how previous go to takeaways do things). Lovely customer service across delivery and ordering, havent been in store but was quickly made our 'regular' Chinese takeaway. Portions are the usual larger than you expect, everything is great quality and was pleasantly surprised to see vegan/veggie options. Price point is brilliant and totally worth the try !!!
We ordered the starter box, and to say the least it was terrible, cold, chewy and overall not very nice and all of us agreed, the prawn toast tasted like nothing, all of it was flavourless, bland and seemed like it was reheated. I won't be ordering from pagoda again! However delivery driver was nice & helpful as well as the person that took our order as we don't usually get it from pagoda.
On entering the the pagoda I noticed the lack of customers, ordered my food , then out of curiosity looked at the reviews . Then realised the pagoda was under new ownership and read some reviews. I Gave the place a chance . Food was prompt , didn't wait long , but I was the only customer , was hot , but totally different in taste and colour , with a slight sweet tangy flavour to the chicken curry and chicken fried rice I previously had when it was under the old ownership. It also had all the decor ripped out , so the atmosphere made it feel like a low budget takeaway . Tried it once but sadly not again
I have always loved this Cantonese; my family have been coming here for over 10 years. Pagoda has always had great food and lovely staff, BUT we just had our first meal in a while and i am beyond disappointed and surprised at the change in management and quality it seems. Unfortunately it has switched from a Cantonese takeaway to Chinese and the food was extremely greasy, salty and gloopy! The exact opposite of what it used to be. We are Very unhappy and i can say for sure we wont be returning. :( only putting up a review to maybe stop someone who is expecting the previous lovely food from wasting their money.
To give the benefit of doubt and a fair chance, tonight was the fourth time we’ve tried Pagoda since the new owners took over - it was definitely our last. The food is just awful - rice was stodgy and unpleasant - crispy chicken was soggy with a mushy coating that tasted terrible and the chips.....you get the picture. The staff are completely charmless - it’s a shame as we’ve been loyal customers for over 15 years with the previous owners who were happy, always pleased to see you and most importantly, provided excellent food. Goodbye Pagoda - it was great and then suddenly....it wasn’t.
Well ordered my food and it came out like 5mins!! The food was well over prices for what I got and wasn't even that nice.... the worth thing there was a child taking my order...God Dame have shame
We used to love this Chinese for over 15 years with fantastic food but New ownership since we last visited 2 months ago and very disappointed by the quality of the food. Special fried rice was literally just plain rice in a tub. Rice was clumpy. Definitely a step in the wrong direction and a slump in the food quality. We won’t be retuning.
