£48 and no flavour, very dissapointed, we've always had meals from here but this was the last sweet and sour sauce was like vinegar, curry had no flavour, beef chow and special rice both had no flavour very dissapointed
Nice chinese food, and it is always hot, whilst the owners are very polite people. The takeaway does home delivery within 3-4 miles. Last Order is before 10pm, and delivery charges do apply to the distance of travel for delivery. Opening hours from 5pm to 22:20pm. Closed Sunday.
Easily one of the best authentic takeaways in Pontypridd, flavour is close to local British food (Im Chinese so can be quite strict when it comes to food). I ordered duck, beef and chow mein, rice dishes from them. Flavour is balanced, love the black bean sauce.
Have ordered previously from mai wah, took some time between order and arrival understandably as it was valentine’s day. called to see where order was and was told it was out for delivery, was then called back shortly after to be told order had been delivered by driver. (when it fact it was not) speaking with the takeaway, (lady, who i think is front of house couldn’t not have been more accommodating, sympathising with the issue) driver was put on the phone telling me that it was delivered, adamant that it was delivered to the correct address… , clearly not as far as i was aware as i had nothing, a bit of a heated back and fourth, takeaway agreed to re make food after some chat. a little time after neighbour had knocked and our food was delivered to them 2 doors down, let the takeaway know and fresh food was still remade and delivered, delivered to i assume by the same driver, he apologised but i felt there wasn’t really any heart put into it. whole processed took such a long time from start to finish (even understanding it was V day) that we weren’t really hungry by the time the second lot of food came. disappointed in the service as mai wah for us was definitely a household favourite, will probably think twice before ordering again tbh…
Not good. Asked for a hot spicy duck fried rice. Got back home and there's zero chilli in my dish and zero flavor. The chicken balls were awful too. Should be chicken breast but tasted fatty. no Chinese spices, no Chinese flavor.

Was passing through my old place just now and thought I'd go to my old chip shop and try out the new owners. I was in my car and didn't have my wallet. There's some change I counted it up 3 times. It came to £3. It was a £1 and four £0.50 pence pieces. They asked what I wanted..I said just a large bag of chips please which came to £2.80. So I new I had enough and was due change. Lady asked me if I wanted salt and vinegar..I said yes please. Guy on the till said I've only counted up £.2.50 here. Got me in all of a panic. I checked my pockets I knew I gave them the right money because that's all i had on me. But the lady gave me the chips which wasn't cooked. And Made me feel awefull and bad. I just looked at them and apologised to them making me feel as if I was in the wrong. the guy on the till can't either can't count or is ripping people off. And the Uncooked chips went straight in the bin. Rank!
