   I’m a family member of an elderly woman who was treated appallingly at the Cardiff Bay B&M on 26th September. She rarely goes out due to health issues, but on this occasion, we took her shopping,only for her to be spoken to rudely by staff and have an item (a box of Baileys biscuits) snatched from her hands when she tried to buy it herself. She doesn’t speak English well and was left upset, confused, and humiliated. There was no compassion or respect shown at all. Extremely disappointing and unacceptable behaviour from staff

   Unacceptable Treatment of Elderly Customer at Cardiff Bay Store I’m extremely disappointed by the experience my elderly grandmother and I had at the B&M Cardiff Bay store on the evening of Thursday, 26th September. This was her only day out in weeks due to health issues, and what should have been a simple shopping trip turned into something upsetting and distressing. At the till, a staff member rudely questioned whether we were going to pay for a box of Baileys biscuits and then refused to sell them when I couldn’t produce ID (which was in the car). I politely explained they were for my grandmother, who offered to pay separately, but the staff member showed no courtesy or understanding. To make matters worse, when my grandmother went in on her own to buy the biscuits, a second staff member reportedly snatched the item from her hand. My grandmother does not speak English and came back to the car visibly upset and confused by how she was treated. When I tried to speak to a manager, I was told none were available, and once again met with unhelpful, rude attitudes. Having worked in retail myself, I understand rules are rules — but there’s no excuse for such disrespect, especially towards vulnerable or elderly customers. B&M seriously needs to address the behaviour and attitude of their staff at this store.

   This store is insanely hot. The fact that you let your own staff work in that environment should be illegal. As just a customer I can spend longer than 5 minutes in this store and it’s been like this for months now. I’ll never understand why companies don’t put their staff first, you’d make a much bigger profit with happier staff.

   This shop offers a wide variety of products, including painting and decorating supplies, and is quite large inside. There are usually plenty of parking spaces nearby, including a couple of disabled spaces near the shop entrance. The staff are usually very friendly and helpful. The shop can get quite busy, especially on weekends, and you can sometimes experience large queues at the tills.

   Great prices here, but you do need to watch some products that occasionally can be higher than the main supermarkets, but the majority is definitely a lower.

   Website says go to store as product in stock, rang to double check beforehand, but they don’t do that. Went to the store - no stock. Advised by that store to go to another store as they have 9 packs in store. Drove to that store, no stock. Was advised again to ring beforehand to check but they won’t check. Waste of time, waste of petrol, still can’t get the product that the website insists is in stock.

   I like B&M for the various variety and low prices! The prices of well know brands is certainly cheaper than most. I particularly like the location of this b&m and parking is free! Conveniently located next to other stores as it’s part of a small retail centre.
