We absolutely love it here - we have two small kids and there’s always something for them to do. The natural play parks are lovely, the pathways are always well maintained and the facilities clean and well kept. Friendly staff and dog friendly!

9/8/25: In the last few years the work to bring this garden and buildings back to their glorious past has been outstanding especially given the issues with Covid. Although not as glorious a place as it once was say back in the 1980-90’s when jointly run by two local education authorities it is gradually making headway and will continue to do so under ownership of the National Trust and particularly where the public frequent its potentially wonderful Italianate gardens, majestic lawns and waterways and of course eventually the grand house once it has painstakingly being refurbished. There is a great deal of rebuilding and replanting going on and it is a great way to spend a day. The cafes are well worth a visit as is the book shop. It is well worth a visit.

We had a lovely visit here with our little 2 1/2 year old grandson - he really enjoyed the “Summer of play” activities and liked exploring the garden “rooms,” Glasshouses and kitchen garden . We really enjoyed our visit and it was well worth the drive of just over an hour.

When we arrived we had a lovely introduction from Roger who advised on the best route, how long it would take to get round (1.5 hours), and his favourite garden. While some of the gardens are a work in progress, there is plenty to see, from local wildflowers to exotic plants. The bookshop cafe was closed due to staff shortages but the entrance cafe had lots of friendly staff to keep people happy. The secondhand bookshop was well decorated. There were lots of beautiful places to view the gardens, including an amazing archway made of cut down trees. If you like ponds, this is the place to be! We spent 3 hours in total there: eating, drinking, walking around, looking at books, and taking photos.

A lovely mix of woodland paths, formal gardens and a maze of garden'rooms' in different styles. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would bring the grandchildren next time as they would love the space to run and explore. The lovely cafe facilities were much enjoyed along with the book shop facilities. A great place for a day out.

Beautiful gardens, a nice cafe where you can watch birds feeding over the river in the window, and a big manor house (closed for refurbishments on our visit) l. There's a glass house of succulents and various Japanese statues which we found pretty interesting. The shop also has some nice art, crafts and agricultural bits. Wear sensible shoes if you plan on walking the woodland.

Absolutely beautiful place. Spent almost the whole day here, just so gorgeous! All the staff are super helpful and friendly, the cafe has some super tasty food too. We spent ages in the natural play area with my toddler and I can't wait to come back again soon. Has definitely become one of my favourite places to visit

The gardens were very nice for a wander around. Lots of little paths to explore and secret areas to sit. The house wasn't open unfortunately and we were informed that it probably wouldn't open again until next year. We enjoyed a nice lunch in the cafe.

I had a lovely day here with my family. A lot of the gardens are currently being re-worked but there was still plenty to see wandering through the maze of different zones. I will definitely be returning to this gorgeous spot in the future!

Visiting just after two storms meant that a lot of the site was closed until safety checks had been completed. Nevertheless Dyffryn is a pleasant place to visit and there was still a lot to see. I will go back in late spring or summer to enjoy the gardens and arboretum. The house is closed to the public. The cafe produced a decent light lunch and I ate on the sunny south facing terrace. The car park is large with an electric charging point. Adequate toilets and a big gift shop that also sells plants.
