I stayed here when walking the Pennine Way at the very end of October. It was easy to check in and the room was big but warm and cosy. Unfortunately I had to miss breakfast (because of an early bus to continue my walk) but I'd definitely stay here again!

Tired and old fashioned. Totally unsuitable for infirm people. I was in the attic with a dog...up 3 flight of stairs. No one is there ,until breakfast 6am. No dogs allowed in the dinning room, so if like me I was on my own I couldn't enjoy a breakfast in the dinning room,. The cook made me up a tray thank goodness as I waited at the other side of the door. Won't go back there again at Β£125 per night.

I stayed at this hotel on 13th September and it was an utter disappointment. The shower in our room did not work at all β€” just a pathetic drip from the pipe β€” making it impossible to shower. Despite reporting the problem, no one came to fix it, and we were forced to check out early. Customer service was shocking. Staff were polite enough but completely ineffective. Had to ring a number from a note on the wall, They promised someone would attend to the issue straight away, but after 25 minutes, nobody showed up β€” even though housekeeping were in the same corridor as my room. I spoke to housekeeping on my way out and they had no knowledge of my issue and could not offer a solution. My request for a partial refund was flatly refused because the hotel is β€œsmall” and they don't have the profit margin apparentlyβ€” their profits are not my problem. The only thing they refunded was the late checkout fee as we checked out early with not being able to shower. A functioning shower is a basic expectation for any hotel room, the lack of this facility combined with their poor customer service ruined our stay completely. Other issues to note: Road-facing rooms are extremely noisy. Corridors are dirty, with marks on the carpet everywhere. Holes in wall from previous toilet roll holder they haven't bothered to replace. Mattress is really soft and can feel the springs No non-dairy options available at breakfast. Oat milk had 'run out' apparently. Room entry keypad is painfully loud β€” you hear every guest entering their room with 7 beeps every time. No reception staff on weekends meaning you have to call a number, but then nobody assists you anyway. This hotel is poorly maintained and poorly managed. I would not recommend it to anyone and strongly advise avoiding it until they actually improve facilities and customer service should they suddenly decide to care.

Had a lovely stay for 3 nights. So easy to get in. The bed was large and comfortable and there was plenty of tea/coffee/milk/sugar. Breakfast was plentiful with a full range of options, and served with a cheerful personal touch. The car was safe in the ample car park. We will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Great service and location. Car parking facilities are to the rear of the hotel and and there is plenty of room.. The staff that we saw are lovely. Our room was on the top floor and was clean with a comfy bed and great views over the hills opposite. There was plenty of choice for breakfast including freshly cooked full English, toast and preserves, croissants, cereals and fresh fruit . Would definitely recommend a stay here as it is in a great position for exploring the surrounding area and the Yorkshire Dales.

Overall a great budget hotel, clean airy rooms with a comfy bed. Breakfast was huge and plenty of choice from freshly cooked English to fruit and toast. Would definitely recommend a stay here as we did on the way to the Dales.

Fabulous stay for our wedding night! No keys required. All access codes. Car park, close to all local shops, sights etc Fantastic customer service! Even went out of their way to decorate our room for our wedding, after being asked for a friend. Made it that extra special for us Xx

A lovely family friendly hotel! Friendly staff, good prices, beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere and great breakfast! We explored the area, visited the Keighley Bus Museum and got to ride on a steam train for the first time, which was a big hit with the children. Highly recommend booking with Dalesgate, if you want to try all those things in the day and get some serenity after a day of fun.

Five star rating based on service and location. Car parking facilities good. Staff lovely. We had a slight issues with water pressure in the shower but were assured that this would be resolved ASAP. On that basis, definitely a five star review. Don't get me wrong, it's not the Ritz, but it's also not Ritz prices. The rooms were very nice, the staff were friendly and helpful (As I've always found in Yorkshire) and we will definitely use again.
