When we stayed we paid for an executive room but didn’t feel it matched up to the price. The beds were comfy and the room was clean, but the coffee machine leaked, the fridge wasn’t cold, the seal around the shower was broken so water went all over the floor, there was only one bathrobe in the wardrobe. We used the online message system to tell them about our problems with the fridge, coffee machine and ask for another robe but no one replied after a day and a half. So we told reception and then we still didn’t hear back. The barrier in the car park didn’t work. They also charged us £80 too much for our room initially, however they did give us a refund when we pointed this out. The breakfast was good and the hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas. The pool, sauna and steam room are good. The location is great, right next to the centre and 20 mins walking away from the bay. Staff were nice and friendly. I have two stars because the price of the room didn’t really match the experience we had.

Warm friendly and professional welcome nice room good location bar good. Breakfast was excellent and the gym facilities better than a lot of hotel gyms. The saunas where not hot enough by quite a bit and not just due to power saving. The Swedish sauna not even making 60 degs and steam room was very lacking in steam. But overall a lovely little break.

We recently held a fairly large conference here for health and social care and the venue was absolutely outstanding. We were extremely well looked after by the staff and the quality of food and drink was absolutely superb. Recommend this as a perfect venue for conferences, you won't be disapppointed!

We had a lovely stay at Novotel Cardiff Centre. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to an executive room, and the staff throughout our stay were genuinely friendly and helpful. While the hotel itself is a bit dated - especially the rooms - the atmosphere makes up for it. The bar is a great spot to unwind in the evening with a beer, and the pool, steam room, and sauna are a really nice bonus for relaxing after a long day. Breakfast was a highlight, and our server Lit really stood out - super cheerful and welcoming, and he managed to put a smile on our faces first thing in the morning. Overall, it’s a comfortable stay with excellent service and great amenities. Would happily return!

Excellent service from the gentleman on the desk (didnt quite catch his name). He upgraded both our rooms to executive suites. One was a lot smaller than the other and the fridge in the smaller room wasnt working. However this didnt affect our stay in the slightest. Staff were super friendly, made it easier for conversation as one of us were already dressed up to go out!! Rooms were super clean, tv was of a good size only downfall was we could not connect to the chromecast in any of the rooms. Cant comment on the bar/restaurant as only popped in there for one drink before heading out. But it was lovely and clean and the drinks were nice. The pool was nice, jaccuzzi/hot tub could have been warmer but it was ok. Parking charges are a bit on the high side, but we had a lift there and back. Id definatly reccommend and would stay again but would park elsewhere or catch a train and walk. Honestly though the gentleman on the desk was an absolute gem and hes a credit to your hotel. Cant wait to return.

Stayed here a couple of times in January and have had a thoroughly enjoyable stay! Breakfast is a good choice of colds and cooked, room was spacious and nice views from the lift up. Dinner in the restaurant was also good! And Anthony, the gentleman serving us was helpful and went above and beyond! Live musician playing on a Thursday around 5pm/7pm. Pool and gym too! And parking right by the entrance in a barrier car park. Will stay here again next time I’m in Cardiff for sure.

OK. So this is the story. We booked this place as it was central, seemed family friendly and had a pool. A week before we were due to go we received an email to say that the swimming pool was out of action as maintenance had taken longer than expected. I was a bit grumpy at this because a swimming pool was a priority for us as we have kids. One phone call later they offered a 20% discount which would enable us to pay for a couple of visits to the local pool. We were happy at this. When we arrived everything was just as you would expect: a fairly standard modern chain hotel. The range of food available for breakfast we excellent and the full English buffet was fresh and regularly topped up. Upon leaving I went to pay for the parking but was told that this too was waived. I was shocked at this. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. They really turned a negative first impression around to a positive. I will definitely look to book a Novotel again - both for work trips and family holidays.

Staff were very friendly, room was clean and not overly noisy despite being on a busy road. Very comfortable sleep. Easy to park not overly expensive, great breakfast (additional cost) and on site facilities. The only downside is the shower, no matter how you set it, it would randomly turn freezing and then scolding hot maintain and then repeat freezing, scolding hot. On departure we informed reception as it was only one night not too problematic for us but a few days we would not be happy.
