This is not just a place to stay, it’s an entire experience. One of the best Wales has to offer. From the location, breathtaking views of the pier to the culinary expertise of the in-house restaurant, Holm House was an unforgettable family vacation spot. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. I would love to visit and stay again perhaps in a different season to gain another exquisite point of view.

Holm House is absolutely wonderful, from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The atmosphere is calm, elegant, and full of charm. Our room was spotless and beautifully decorated, with those thoughtful little touches that make such a difference. It’s one of those rare places that feels both luxurious and homely at the same time. I can’t wait to come back ✨

I stayed with them this last week and I must say the experience was delightful! The staff and atmosphere was lovely and the stay itself was super nice and comfortable. But the main star of my stay was the breathtaking view from my room which i couldnt get enough of! I will definitely be staying with them again

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The room was spotless, modern, and super comfortable, with everything I needed. The location was perfect - close to everything but still peaceful. I’ll definitely be coming back - highly recommend!

Was OK to stay here, but the lack of support really dings the overall experience. The lack of reception was not a problem, and I was able to get into the building/room using the provided instructions easily. Checking the rooms when I arrived, I noticed that the shower was dripping after being turned off, and this would continue for 20-30 minutes. Called the building management to let them know, and to let them know it was not urgent. They said they would get a plumber out by 11 the next day. I came back to the room the next evening and the shower issue remained. I was not contacted after that initial phone call to verify fixes etc. Additionally, there are a number of small details that were off in the room. Relatively minor, but these matter for a more luxury stay. The hot water tap was not secured properly as can be seen in the video. Additionally, I could see they did not properly mask off the bathroom ceiling lights when repainting (edges of light covered in paint). The interior of some drawers also had paint inside them indicating they were not sealed properly when painting. This does not look clean and neat, and I would expect it for an establishment like this. Overall a decent stay, but I expect better attention to detail and more support given the luxury image they presented.

Great place for special occasions. Afternoon tea is a special treat. However when restaurant is busy it's very noisy as hard surfaces reflect the noise. Lovely lookout and outdoor space

I'd love to give 5 stars but am taking 1 away for the lack of toilet seat and bad afternoon tea. The location is wonderful on the beach at Penarth. We enjoyed the spa facilities although there was no one around on the first day to provide towels until we complained. We had massages and a facial in the spa and they were certainly excellent. Credit to them. We were staying with my daughter as a 21st birthday treat and despite telling various staff members they did nothing special for us. The biggest disappointment was the afternoon tea which was not expensive but really bad. The scone was good but the cakes were terrible. Other peeps left their cakes so it wasn't just us. For 3 of us there were only 2 tea strainers and 2 glasses provided. We told the server a couple of times but they did nothing to recover the situation. We stayed in the bridal suite but the low angles of the ceiling was a real pain. The bathroom was missing a sink plug and the shower plug was broken. Little things that could be fixed with more attention to detail. Breakfast was not buffet style so it was really difficult to choose. We weren't allowed cappuccinos with breakfast, which for the price of the hotel, is ridiculous. The quality of the sausages and bacon was poor but I thought my vegetarian breakfast was nice. The cafetiere was leaking so the coffee was gritty. We had to keep asking for sweetener instead of sugar. Our server at breakfast was a lovely lady who did try to help. For the price of the stay I was disappointed with the general lack of service.

Luxury first class hotel. We stayed in the Flatholm Suite with the copper bath, it was superb and so spotless. The bed was heaven and the towels were so soft. We dined in the restaurant for lunch and the food was to die for, lovely breakfast too. The staff are all really friendly too. The whole experience was faultless and we would definitely return and recommend to anyone.

After searching for a hotel for my partners 50th birthday with a bath and sea view in the room we had hoped that Holm House would be the perfect place. Before booking we checked several things one being parking, we were assured that there was plenty of onsite parking ( great as we were going to be travelling in a week old new vehicle). On the day of arrival we were greeted by a tiny car park that had no spaces available and told we could park on the main road and to move once spaces were available. After carrying our bags from the main road we were shown to our room. As soon as we entered the room there was a smell of drains but didn’t think much of it and thought it must have been from cleaning. We then went to unpack our clothes to find missing draw handles, broken draws etc. we were only staying one night so thought we would just leave everything in cases then. My partner had been looking forward to her bath with sea view but although everything you need is meant to be provided there wasn’t any bubble bath ( a trip to Tesco to sort). Every tap in the hotel room was damaged or loose and my partner found broken glass on the floor next to the bath. We then went down stairs for an evening meal which was very good and the waiting staff were brilliant, I couldn’t have a drink with my though meal as had to move our car from the main road later when there was a space. By 9pm there were still no spaces ( why are spaces not reserved for people staying??) We had cocktails then which again were really good. Still no parking when we went up to bed ( although we couldn’t drive anyway then). Got into bed and the smell of drains was still there along with cobwebs on the ceiling. The tv in the bedroom had terrible reception and was unwatchable. Looking forward to not having to get up early the next morning we were expecting a good nights sleep only to be woken by water dripping through the ceiling and light fitting. We had already tried to call the front desk at night but had no answer. For what was meant to be a luxury suit and Β£365 a night before discount you would expect perfection. We did get a full refund for the room but that doesn’t help with a ruined 50th birthday weekend. Far from luxury rooms , travel lodges we’ve been to have been far better kept.

Not far from the M4 and right on the coast just south of Cardiff you will find this gem of a hotel and spa. We unfortunately arrived a little later in the evening and only stayed the night but our short time there was very nice. The staff are all top notch and very pleasant. The room we had was a nice size with a quality on suite. We did take advantage of the pool and steam room in the morning before breakfast and both are nice and relaxing. The pool area has a very cool look to it. Breakfast is excellent of course in the bright and airy dining room with views of the sea. The price of the room is reasonable. A great spot for couples! The dinner menus looked good as well as the spa selection. Definitely give Holm House a look as you travel through Wales!
