Unfortunately, better are not the best. They repeatedly cancel yoga classes at short notice because they have not booked a yoga teacher or they have canceled them by accident. They do not send out an email to warn you, but the class just disappears off the app, even though you have already booked. Always check that the class is on before you leave the house. Most of the staff are very nice, but there are one or two who are really rude. The air conditioning/heating also seems to be playing up or broken in several of the rooms, but I guess it is an old building that they inherited from Cardiff Council. It’s just as well that it’s relatively cheap.

The machines are all pretty old but ok. It's generally not too busy. The frustrating thing is the opening hours. It closes early Friday to Sunday.

Amazing! I was struggling to find parking for an event in Cardiff, I reached out via e-mail not really expecting much of a response when within a few minutes I had an e-mail back from Ben. Ben was super helpful and answered all my queries thoroughly and even sent me a map! When I arrived at the centre to pay for my parking, all staff were friendly and helpful. I got chatting to Tracey who again couldn't do enough for me. When I returned back to the car park after the event, I bumped in to Tracey who went to the trouble of stopping her own car, to ask if we enjoyed the event! The car park was great, the payment was easy and very reasonable, but the staff were OUTSTANDING!

I use this facility for nearly 18 years and its getting more and more unpleasant and unsafe. I was bitten twice by dog on velodrome and multiple close calls with dogs and walkers on velodrome and pump track. Not mentioning dog poo all over place... In a past I had encounter with those "adult people" who went on velodrome with few dogs of the leash, even I was on a bicycle on opposite side of the track two dogs run towards me and bite me in my calf and second bite in my ankle. Took few minutes for owners to get the dogs on a leash and run away living me there with verbal abuse from their side. I was told I shouldn't be there and I should go away because I'm distressing their dogs... While they couldn't control their dogs. They were to busy drinking and smoking in a middle of a velodrome... Few days ago I bump in to two of those people with dog (two on a right in photo) by one of the entrance to centre and with no reason again I was called not nice names and threatened, just because I was there with bicycle. (Sorry, I don't take dog to a sport centre) Glad I'm adult person and I can defend myself but I'm just worried what will happened if a young kid / childe be in that situation. Maybe its time to introduce some safety to this place and ban dogs from facility! Not only from velodrome where people come with dogs anyway, but whole land within centre... Its a sport and leisure centre, not a private field or zoo. P.S. Its time to train your staff members for first aid. I was offered a hand sanitizer for my wounds... C'mon...

Really friendly staff with a great mix of facilities. Shame the group cycling studio gets so hot.

Easily my favourite gym in Cardiff. While it lacks some equipment that would be nice, it makes up for it through a swimming pool, friendly and helpful staff and not a large volume of people throughout the day. The price is a bit steep, but with a student discount it's not the worst, considering you get both the gym and the swimming pool as part of the deal.

I’ve been using the Maindy gym and swimming pool for a number of years now, and I’ve enjoyed it, the facilities are fantastic, however I do have a complaint that the swimming pool temperature could be warmer, especially now that it’s winter, it feels so uncomfortable to be swimming in low temperatures and then the showers are never consistent some days warm some days hot water, and I’m not the only one who feels this way, most of the leisure centre users feelings are mutual, I do request you look into this matter.

Gym isn't air-conditioned and the showers don't have doors, just curtains that don't close properly. Also found one of the male staff a bit touchy feely. I would go somewhere else if it wasn't so close by

Fantastic cycling facilities for the community. Great refurbished gym and friendly staff. Changing rooms could do with refurbishing. Clean but quite tired.

Fantastic facility for Cardiff and the surrounding area. To have a 6-lane 25m pool and a closed road, tarmac velodrome on the same site is extremely rare in the UK & makes for a great sporting hub!
