Surprisingly spacious rooms! Amazing friendly staff - to the point of one of them finding a takeaway that delivered after I'd had a couple of pints and realised I couldn't find food nearby. Amazing bed and a good breakfast, especially for a small place!

Booked lunch for a party of 8 and had various different meals - 4 of the very tasty home made pies ( including the vegetarian option) a vegetarian Thai curry, scampi and jacket potatoes. Everyone enjoyed their meal - plenty of food, well presented and a very friendly welcome. Lovely real fire too and no rush to leave. We will be back

We have eaten there, once for breakfast and the second time for an evening meal. Both were quickly served being excellent and plentiful. It should be noted that this premises is under new ownership as of August 2025 but I am impressed with the wide range of beers and ciders together with a good range of real ales. This has now become my local.

This is a lovely place to stay. They made us feel so welcome. The staff are friendly as are the locals. The rooms are clean and well equipped with tea, coffee, kettle, hairdryer and even a fan. They are checking in to see if you need top ups on anything and always around. The pub being opposite is where we had our breakfast which was amazing. Full English, toast, cereal and lots of coffee. The pub also does meals if you wish to stay on site. There is also a good size car park too though it shares with the pub. Plus dog friendly. The only downside for me personally was there was only one vegetarian option of pasta on the pub menu. This is a wonderful place to stay. We had a lovely time here, chatting with the locals and I would happily recommend it.

My partner, myself and our 2 dogs have just spent 3 fabulous nights at Millingbrook lodge and without doubt this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in recent years. The rooms are spacious and maintained to a very high standard. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming and the pub is well stocked, with a lovely menu and a great range of beers and wines. We cannot recommend this place enough - whether as a stop-over , or for exploring the beautiful surrounding forest and countryside.

My partner and I had a fabulous meal tonight in The Geroge Inn. Fantastic food, came hot and plenty of it! Excellent service, friendly staff and didn't take long for food to arrive after ordering. Good choice of food on offer, the pie was amazing!! Best meal we have had in a long time, very much enjoyed.

What a place this pub has turned in to went there on Friday night 4 nov , lovely helpful lady behind the bar brought drinks to our table , lovely smile & very welcoming. But….. the girl who was waitressing was useless She had not a clue what she was doing. We ordered a home made chicken pie and a home made steak and kidney pie. We were quite happily drinking and waiting for about half an hour when the food arrived which the girl dumped on the table and buggered off. She never got us any cutlery etc for us or anything so I had to wonder off and find it myself. Then when upon further inspection the chicken pie was not home made ! It was worse than a Tesco chicken and mushroom and was definitely not home made. The steak pie also wasn’t home made either and was full of what I would call wet slop, when we finally got the attention of the so called waitress she said she would see the chef… then came back and said that’s all they had What a joke. Charging £15 for each so called home made pie, false advertising & definitely not what we expected after being here several weeks ago & having beautiful tasty home made pies . What a let down . Never going there again.

Went for Sunday lunch. The food was very nice, but the service was appalling ... the waiting staff all appeared to be teenagers, and seemed absolutely clueless, which is a shame, because they were very friendly. The pub has apparently been taken over, and all the staff are new, but they definitely should have received more training before they were thrown in the deep end. We could hear a few complaints from other tables near us, and they are in danger of losing trade if they don't make improvements.
