Driving back from Nottingham took a wrong turn! decided to stay and have some food. It was great really enjoyed the food, service was good and a nice atmosphere. will return
Lunch's portion is sufficiently large. Dessert + Coffee combo is available. We were quickly seated. Free parking.
One arrival we were told the grill was broken but they could still accommodate for breakfast. To only find out the only things they could make were pretty much eggs and toast. Even non grill items seemed to be off the menu. No point being seated. Lady was not very accommodating.
Now I have to be fair in my review of The goose as I didn’t eat here, we took the children to the play centre and had drinks. No issues with the drinks but the staff were miserable and rude to the point where I even told one of them that I think they need to look for another line of work. Upon entering there was no staff to be seen behind the bar, after waiting a few minutes a male staff member appeared I asked politely if someone could serve us drinks at the play centre counter as my children were already in there playing, I got a tut, a mumbled moan before he disappeared again for five minutes, eventually a lady came out and kindly helped us. It’s such a shame when certain staff members let the whole place down and leave customers feeling like they are a hindrance. On a plus note the coffee was nice and the kids loved the play centre.
I was there after DIY shopping trip. Use to use the Goose years ago for a car club met every month. I always found the staff great to get along with. The latest visit found it’s still like that. My pie was big and full. The pub is right next to the A52 and close to Morrison’s and we’ll used by families, you may want to book?
Lovely dinner here tonite, staffing levels excellent, no one waited more than a few seconds before being acknowledged and served etc, makes all the difference. Not from around here, up from Essex actually, but would defo return, busy this evening but all the staff were very good
Absolutely disgusting ordered a seafood mixed grill and this is what i got. £17 i couldnt even look at it sent it straight back. Also a childrens burger came with the bun and lettuce but no burger. Wil no be returning Terrible food.
Disappointed with food. Had nachos which were horrendously salty. The macaroni cheese was also extremely salty. Son had a Quorn hot dog which looks very basic but he did like it. He liked his cookie pizza though.
