Absolutely fabulous! Absolutely wonderful. Went today with 32 friends ( and me ! ) . We booked the Xmas menu and the Newdigate have been fantastic. Had to make some changes prior to booking, they and were always very helpful and accommodating. The 99 courses they served up today were fabulous. Every single course was hot , served together , the waiting staff , cooking staff were absolutely fabulous. The food was lovely , fresh and hot. They could literally of not of worked any harder and made it such a nice meal and such a nice time. They were so busy , but smashed it out of the park ! Well done to each and every one of you today. You did amazing and your head office should be proud of such teamwork and staff. Merry Christmas. From the Curves ilkeston ladies xxx Date of visit: December 2025

Despite being really busy they managed to seat us at a comfortable table. They advised was going to be 30 mins which we were happy at, and it was pretty much bang on 30 mins when it arrived and it was well worth the wait. The staff were very pleasant and food was spot on. First time since it had the make over but we will back again! Thank you so much.

The food here is amazing there was a large group of us celebrating my birthday, greeted beautifully service was good, how ever serving staff didn’t seem overly joyed when it came to being served β€œno service with a smile” and being hovered around to finish our drinks at the end of our meal wasn’t ideal either! The venue is very warm to say the least don’t go in your winter woolies or you will cook by the time you have eaten far too hot and puts you off your food! But can’t fault the food at all it was amazing so hat off to the chef

We had a meal here. Just wanted to say how great the service was. The lady attending us was on the ball, and had a lovely manner with her. We had mains and I couldn't resist the pudding. We had a 16ox steak and an 8oz rump. Followed by the biscof cheesecake. All was first class and we'll be back. Oh just to add the onion rings were amazing!

A great pub. Very busy but always seem to find everyone a table. Large car park. Great food and service.

Go to Seven Oaks for a carvery on Sunday if you don't want to stand for over an hour and a half waiting for food. I went with my family for a carvery at The Newdigate and we were told there was a 45 minute wait for food (you can't book in advance), so we stood at the bar for 45 minutes as there was nowhere to sit. After that time I went to see how much longer it would be and was told there were still at least 8 other tables to seat before us so it would've been at least another 45 minutes of waiting. I asked if there was anywhere to sit in the meantime and explained the that some people in our group really couldn't stand for long periods of time but was told we could either sit outside (it was winter so very cold outside) or continue to stand at the bar... So we went to Seven Oaks instead (about 10 minutes away) and it was superb!! Would highly recommend Seven Oaks for a carvery - the food was amazing, the staff are very friendly and we didn't have to wait at all for dinner (I believe you can also book in advance) so if you're wondering where to go for a Sunday lunch I'd highly recommend going to Seven Oaks instead of The Newdigate.

We tried to book a table for Sunday but were told walk-ins only. We arrived to a packed car park but managed to find a space. We were greeted warmly and told the wait was a shattering 60 minutes for a table of 6. We decided waiting wouldn't be issue and we were given a buzzer. Then we headed to the bar to order drinks. We waited patiently in the covered garden area and our buzzer sounded after 40 minutes to our delight. We were shown to our table and a member of staff asked if we all wanted carvery before a waitress took our drinks order. Another member of staff came to collect us for our turn at the carvery and all of us filled our plates. The food was hot and delicious. Not a murmur or grumble over any item! I could have eaten the roast potatoes for dessert as well... But I'm glad I didn't and had enough room for a Rolo Brownie sundae and a cappuccino! Would definitely recommend and return.

Great pub with a lovely covered outdoor seating area. This place has always got a good atmosphere and the prices are fair. Can’t really ask for much more.

Just got back from our birthday meals this evening and have to say it was absolutely delicious with excellent, first class service. My partner had lasagne with a side of onion rings and I had the bbq grilled chicken melt with chips and coleslaw and a side of delicious onion rings. Lovely restaurant, superb!!
