We were members years ago but didn't go enough to make it worthwhile. But coming back as a guest on a warm sunny afternoon in late summer was wonderful. Beautiful peaceful quiet environment . Thanks!

Oh, Henleaze Lake — a stunning, natural body of water… that you can’t touch unless you’re part of the secret club. How quaint! In the middle of a boiling heatwave, the rest of us plebs can sweat it out on baking concrete while a small circle of Very Important People sip lemonade by their exclusive, taxpayer-gifted paradise. Don’t worry though, I’m sure nature loves being privatised. Nothing says “community spirit” quite like fencing off water in a busy city so only the well-connected can take a dip. Bravo.

Great resource for the members and their guests. People didn't seem territorial about their places, so you can move with the sun and shade. There's an easy atmosphere of splashing shrieks and the chatter of family-and-friends relaxation. Beautiful surroundings for the actual swimming!

Very quiet and peaceful place. Very hard to become a member but it worth the wait.

What a beautiful place and you would never even know it was there. Not a member myself but will definitely be going back for a guided tour next year.

What a beautiful and tranquil place for some essentially wild swimming, in an urban environment. Members only, but members can bring a guest. It is a very quiet place and sheltered from the wind. Bring a flask of tea or coffee, and a good book and don't look at the clock! If you can find a member to bring you as a guest - jump at the chance!

I went as a guest for the first time since I was a child and it was just as magical as I remember but only better. The swimming area has been extended and so has the grassy spaces too. Such a calm and lovely place to go for a swim! We visited during the June heatwave and the water was 20 degrees!

High summer still with water temp about 20 degrees. Lovely. Henleaze Lake is a Charity with membership restricted on safety grounds. Worth waiting to get in
