Been coming here for years now, the food each time has been extremely tasty consistent every time. The service is always perfect as well, food comes out quickly and has never been messed up. Overall 10/10 spot, i would recommend always booking though.
We love the food here, especially the bibimbap. It comes in a hot stone bowl with a wooden tray. The dishes in general feel very authentic. Options range across various Asian cuisine including the drinks. The Korean offerings are by far my favourite.
Can't complain about the food, but service there at lunch time was a nightmare today. Young staff. They literally threw plates of food in front of us. I didn't hear a word from them, nothing like 'enjoy your meal', 'please', 'thank you'., completely nothing. One big embarrassment. We didn't feel welcome there at all. I'm not sure if that's their culture?We normally go there evening time, and usually there is an elderly lady serving us, and she's lovely. But today she wasn't there.
Ginger & Garlic delivers exactly what you hope for when craving well-executed Asian comfort food. It’s not about flashy or fancy here, the focus here is on good flavours, speed, and satisfaction. We worked our way through a spread that ticked all the boxes. The Vegetable Spring Rolls, the Fried Chicken Buns, the Beef Mandu (dumplings) were all solid. The Kimchee was worth ordering, and opens the door for someone to mention their “gut biome” during lunch. We also got the Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap which was yummy and the Spicy Salt & Chilli Soft Shell Crab was crisp and delivered a pleasant balance of spices and some mild heat. The Roast Duck Fried Rice was excellent and my favourite dish of the day. I kept going back to it and is the kind of thing you’d order again next time without hesitation. Service was friendly and efficient, the food came out quickly, fresh and hot. Ginger & Garlic knows what it does, and it does right. A reliable, delicious option well known to locals of Cheltenham.
There are a variety of Korean dishes in their menu. It is a busy restaurant located in city centre of Cheltenham. The food is average but it is value for money. Their service is fast and good.
Really good, and one of our favourite places to eat in Cheltenham. You can go for the barbecue option, £25 per head (less the more people you have) where you get a load of sides, lots of chicken, lamb, beef, king prawn and fish balls marinated in different sauces for you to cook at the table. If that isn't your thing, there's an impressive range of Korean food. The Bimibap in sizzling stone bowls is delicious, and the crispy rice at the bottom makes a good incentive to eat everything. There's a karaoke room at the back you can hire. My daughter hired it for her birthday, and had a great time. The place is small, but has a nice atmosphere. The sizzling of the food you occasionally hear really adds to the experience. We couldn't finish all the food, but have plenty boxed up for lunchboxes tomorrow.
Service was super fast which is always a good thing. The waitress was friendly and even helped me pronounce one of the dishes. The food was super fresh and really tasty. It was my first visit and will be back. I recommend the beef bulgogi it was perfect.
Edit; been here 3 times now and it's still absolutely delicious!!! Fantastic, authentic Korean food at a reasonable price. They also have a wide selection of Korean alcoholic beverages some of which are very difficult to find! Every single dish was faultless from the soups to the meat platters and vegetables. The service was friendly and amusing and the atmosphere/ decor is just aesthetically pleasing! I would highly recommend this place whether it be for BBQ, or any other Korean staples!
