Whilst trying on clothes today , both myself and son were in the changing room ( for 2 people ) when I heard someone shouting can you open the door please there is another customer waiting ; I answered politely yes no problem I won’t be a minute ( bearing in mind I was half dressed ) I then heard the same voice shout “can you open the door we know you’re in there !”At that point I was feeling threatened and could only summize it must be a customer ( as a member of staff would not use this tone and speak so unprofessionally) so I was annoyed and said yes I’ve said I’m about to open the door ! As I left the changing room and made my way to the till I explained that I was very upset by Sue who had said this to the man who had come to serve me , ( management ? ) the staff member half heartedly apologised with a unfriendly manner and tone of voice then said leave it now . and explained the staff need to monitor who is in the changing room . Along walks sue and hears me expressing my upset when Sue proceeded to say “shut your mouth” . The man continued to ask me to “leave it now “ as if I am not entitled to express my annoyance at having my dignity and customer rights disregarded in the first place . I explained to him that Sue had just proceeded to tell me to shut your mouth , the man ( as I say I assume a deputy or manager ) said “do not talk to my staff like that” . He had thought I’d told her to shut her mouth when I was explaining she had just said that to me . As I defended myself he said , “i thought that you said that” did not apologise but asked what i would like him to do to sort this . I said deal with it professionally and don’t be rude would be a good start , he asked how he was being rude and I said : tone of voice . Disregarding my original issue and then just accusing me of saying shut your mouth to Sue . He then said leave it now . And told me to leave the store , not allowing me to purchase my items . The final time before I left i reinforced Sue had said “shut your mouth” to me , a willing paying customer and Sue projected her own inadequacey then lying and saying I had said “shut your mouth” . I hope cctv is up as you would hear the rudeness of the staff and that she said this . I have taken it higher and it was clear to me on reflection that I was asked to leave due to the inability of the staff to deal with my upset of being spoken to and treated so unpleasantly, therefore the only way to end this was to ask me to leave . It’s safe to say I won’t shop here ever again , absolutely appalling, I have never seen such a rude couple of staff members in all of my life . (Donna Kenmuir)
Thank you to the lady who served us this afternoon called AJ aka Amina :-) She provided friendly, helpful, outstanding 5 star service. We needed help with daughter's trainers for PE at school and AJ went over and above explaining the best type. Also needed assistance with 2 other items which she helped with, as well as my requiring advice for my elderly dad's footwear. It's rare to find exceptional customer service in stores these days. It was a pleasure to shop there today. Thankyou AJ!
My wife and I visited Ilkeston shop on Thursday 2 Nov. We needed school shoes for our grandson. Luckily the first pair he tried fitted and we bought them. However the customer service was easily the worst we've ever received in any shop. We got the feeling that we were a nuisance. Won't be buying anything from there again, though grandson will probably drag us in hoping we'll buy him a football or something.

Visited a number of times over the last few years. Staff are always friendly and happy to help. Good prices. Will return.
Visited this store for the first time yesterday and will be my last visit. Myself my daughter and my 1yr old grandson and one other family were the only people in the store and I think 2 members of staff. We waited for a member of staff to appear so we could get some trainers for my grandson but when the staff appeared, they were with the other family.. we waited and decided to look at tracksuits for him whilst we waited. We went back and waited for the staff member to finish the shoe service and become available to help us get the trainers but they dissappeared. This was about 25mins later, we decided to pay for the tracksuit instead and get trainers another day. We stood at the till and nothing. The staff member appeared to be of personal shopping assistant to what appeared to be her friend. We waited about 10minutes at the till until we left with nothing. We past the other member of staff outside smoking. Absolutely disgusting won't be using again.
It's an ok shop with ok prices. However, one of the staff members came up to us and offered help. Five minutes later he hadn't returned so we asked another member of staff. The guy had GONE ON A LUNCH BREAK so we waited five minutes just to find out that the guy wasn't even going to help. The staff member that helped us was actually very kind. I just don't think it's acceptable to offer help and go on a break.
The store itself is usually well laid out, in a somewhat clostraphobic sort of way, clean and tidy with a good product range. The price range goes to both ends of the scale, low prices and good offers at times all the way to high prices (too high sometimes). The staff vary from polite, professional and courteous to a couple who would rather ignore you that assist you. This is the main reason for three stars. They often have security stationed at the entrance, and sometimes close up to 15 minutes early. We only go here when there is no other choice.
