   There is many micro breweries in and around Heanor but this one is my favourite. The decor is a throw back to an earlier time, and if you enjoy good company with bearded, flat capped men putting the world to rights over a decent ale then this is the place. The manager served us and he was very pleasant to deal with. Nice selection of ales some of course home brewed. Well deserved 5 stars.

   Brilliant place made friends instantly. For you guys in the pub it’s Paul from Sheffield. Great place. Atmosphere, beer, cozy and most amazing and friendliest place I’ve visited in a long time.

   This is my local, it's a micro pub that specialises in real ales. Expect to sit down next to someone and talk to them and laugh. If that's too much it's not the place for you. The dogs that come up to you for a cuddle are all friendly so be nice. There's no warm food, but some nights there's a fuddle on the table and chestnuts roasting on the stove.

   Very pleasant couple of hours spent here on our way to Nottingham for the football. Made to feel very welcome by Andy the proprietor, and the locals. Great beers on offer, reasonably priced. Informed by Andy that he brews his own ale. Lovely beer garden to the rear of the pub, with some interesting items in it. Our time here was much better than the football match we attended. The group have said we shall have to make a return visit at some point.
