I stayed here on the 17th of December and found the hotel not too bad. The gent on reception was polite and welcoming and I couldn't of ask for more for the price payed. People have to understand that these hotels lost a lot of support during the pandemic with ten of thousands of pounds lost. I have stayed in alot worse than this hotel and would return. It was clean, it was warm and I had a good night's sleep. Keep up the good work staff and thankyou for a nice stay. Room 212. D.P.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting. There were numerous amounts of other people's hair still in the bed, in the sink and all over the bathroom. The sink was leaking with water all over the floor. The whole place was damp, smelled horrible and was dilapidated. I was in the room for 10 minutes max then left....told the front desk that it was filthy and they said "sorry no refund" Stay away from this place....worst hotel I have ever been in, The owners should be embarrassed to charge for these rooms

Location of hotel was close to our venue. However, the hotel has been neglected and does not appear to have been redecorated since the 80's. Our room was dull and oppressive with stains on carpet. Wallpaper which was hanging off the wall had been painted over and paint was flaking and falling onto the floor. In fact on the other side of the wall in the corridor there was a lot of damp and black mould. The bathroom had not been replaced since the 80's, the resin on the base of bath had worn away. Toilet seat fittings were rusty and dirty and there was actually black tape around the radiator, which must have been a bodged attempt to repair it. Shower did not work and when put bath taps on black scale came out with the water. Disappointing stay. Hotel is in need of a full refurbish.

I travel a lot for work and have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is hands down the worst place Iβve ever had the misfortune of staying! Checked in easily enough, went to the room and opened to door to be greeted by the stench of damp and mould! Looked behind the door and the damp was so bad the paint was peeling from the wall. My wife then turned on the light switch and all the electrics blew! Back down to reception to ask for a different room where the lad on reception was very accommodating (heβs clearly had many people wanting to change their room before!) and switched us to a different room. It wasnβt a particularly nice room and there was mud on the carpets but at least there was no mould and the electrics worked! Went out to our event and thought nothing more of it as we at least had a bed to sleep in for the night. Oh do I wish Iβd checked the bed before we went out! Got back in the early hours after a wedding and climbed into bed only to be pretty much speared by the springs in the mattress, which must have been as old as I am! Cue a night of next to no sleep in our dirty (but now mould free) room. Just to sum up the standard of this place, I glanced at the fuse board in the room on the way out and it was last inspected in April 2020! If youβre planning on booking a room here, no matter how cheap it may be, steer well clear! Itβs absolutely atrocious and the owners should be ashamed of themselves for charging people to stay in such substandard accommodation!

I would not recommend staying here. There is never anyone at reception, the whole building and room was absolutely freezing to the point my partner had to move the bed closer to the radiator. The room was filthy and the bed was absolutely shocking, we both woke up with bad backs. The cold water in the bathroom runs warm and the shower barely gets warm.

Awful, wouldn't even let a rat stay in it. No hot water, Mattress is not a mattress, feels like a knife in my back. Very old.fashioned. rude staff. Even ruder builders on site drinking whilst on the job when I can see the alcohol next to them. But it's ok because the receptionist says the do alcohol test every 2 weeks. If they keep the hotel at this standard, what chance of alcohol test every 2 weeks is a lie. Can't even maintain rooms let alone staff. Who even does alcohol test every 2 weeks.

Thinking of staying for a warm room with a hot shower, THINK NOT! This hotel had no hot water for 3 days and I don't even know if they fixed it even though they continuously said it will be working in a couple of hours. Do they ever have hot water? They refused to compensate money for it. The room was cold, very old fashioned. A big draft by the windows which offset the heater which barely worked. There is no phone reception on site and the WIFI provided does not work properly, you cant connect. If you somehow do connect to the WIFI longer than 1minute, you may as well do the lottery because you are extremely lucky. The place has barely any staff, there was a note on reception saying check yourself in. There are builders on site who for some reason ask if there are any problems and then start being rude to you. Another friend of mine got into a argument with one who was behind the receptionist desk which ended with both people swearing at each other and storming out of the hotel. Don't forget the mould in the room. None the less i would book this hotel again if i planned on ending my life. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!

The hotel wasn't very clean, there was brown stains/marks on the towels. And we left a wash bag with some expensive bits in, and the Manager has refused to post it out to use at our expense. Not very good customer service, will not use again.

The previous reviews that we read of this place are overly critical. Perhaps it's simply because they've gone through a refurb now, but our room was freshly painted, had new carpets, was tidy, and no odor at all that other reviewers found. Yes, the bed was a bit lumpy and the shower had some mold in the grout in places, but nothing crazy. Oh and the remote for the tele had dead batteries. But there was plenty of parking, a pub, friendly staff, good sized room, and number one: it was clean and comfortable.
