Great food and the presentation is superb. There is something on the menu for everyone and a great selection of wines. The staff ate friendly and helpful, always a delight to eat here.
Great environment for a pint, live music the Sunday we came by. Would recommend for everyone.
Been there at the Northern Ireland open breaks. Fish and chips went to table fast and it was hot and fresh. Fish was crispy outside and flaky inside. Very good and good salt too. Chips are pretty much same than everywhere in Belfast. Tangy malt vinegar on top and mushy peas alongside made this meal better than mediocre. Service is very friendly, fast and efficient. Nothing to complain. A well poured Guinness with food was spot on.
Great classic Pub. Nice friendly atmosphere. Nice semi quiet dining area upstairs. Actually love this place.
Was looking for a good Sunday lunch in Belfast and saw a review for McHughs and thought we would try it. We didn’t have a booking and they managed to fit us in. The Sunday beef roast was fantastic alongside the Guinness. Highly recommended and will visit again when back in the city
Brilliant! Best meal I’ve had while visiting Ireland. The rock top steak experience was amazing and allowed for me to cook my steak exactly how I like. The side of colcannon and leek bacon sauce was delicious. My husband got the lamb shank and it was equally as great. The staff was great and friendly and live music was awesome.
Quiet for a Monday which was enjoyable, it’s a nice interior with two floors. The bartenders were very nice and had some food suggestions as well as beers and some things to do around city. I had the Irish meatballs and it was very good, the sauce was rich and hearty with two good pieces of bread. The Pilsner was very nice as well. Enjoyable spot to stop in right over the bridge.
We stopped here for a bite to eat, and it didn't disappoint. Food was lovely and very good portion sizes at a very reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and entertaining. Highlight was the trad band who came in and started playing. Wished we could have stayed longer!!
Great atmosphere. Went with the McHugh's Boxties and a side order of wings. My dish was great, Beef strips in black pepper sauce with onions and mushrooms topped with a couple of onion rings. Also, I had two local brews. The wife got the Cumberland sausage and cabbage. It was a little too sweet and only had a small amount of cabbage unfortunately. Still the sausage was delicious. The sweetness of the sauce was a little overpowering. Decent prices and great service.
What an excellent experience. Beautiful building, fantastic food, friendly and attentive staff and brilliant value for money. I had the boxty. I wondered if it would be big enough as I was starving. No fear of me leaving with any room in my belly. Others in party had steak, good deals on some night for 2 dishes. Saved £8. Great place, a must if in Belfast
