The new Margot looks great no doubt but the service needs a lot of work. I have tried repeatedly to get drinks only bookings weeks in advance but declined everytime. Can turn up as a walk-in but the whole place is often turned over for reservations and then it's standing room only which is noisy and uncomfortable. When it is much quieter and you can sit down, its a much more enjoyable experience. Also one of their staff keeps walking through in shorts which isn't really the type of impression the establishment should be giving. I would say go for a look and you might get a seat but dubious at best until they can manage the place better between food and drink sittings.

Unfortunately, this is another place trying to pass itself off as high-end while offering products and service that fall well below standard. Google and the staff both said they were open until 1 a.m. on a Thursday, so we decided to stop by. We ordered two cocktails and were served drinks full of tiny ice cubes in oversized glasses, the kind of thing you would quickly put together at home. One cost £13.50 and the other £12.50, yet both looked amateur and were badly presented. The venue is beautifully decorated and actually reminded me of The Ivy, but only in the sense that it looks impressive on the surface while delivering disappointing service and poor-quality products. That is exactly what happened here. Despite the stylish interior, the place was filthy, with tables piled with empty glasses to the point that some customers could barely reach for their own drinks. We sat on a couch at the back bar near the smoking area and were then asked to move to the front because they were “clearing that area.” A moment later, a group arrived and was immediately seated on the exact couches we had just been told to leave. Truly unbelievable. For only a couple of pounds more per cocktail, you can go to The Cocktail Bar at The Merchant, a five-star hotel that delivers five-star service. There you get a proper cocktail made by an actual mixologist, a clean bar, great service, nibbles and even an entry cocktail included. I tried Margot and I do not recommend this place. Beautiful setting, terrible drinks and terrible service.

Table reserved online. Turned up and shown to table. Felt a bit awkward with the clientele in the bar. Not our usual kind of spot but dervla or server was lovely n sorted us out for food and drinks for the night and made us feel at ease. Food was exquisite. Reasonably priced for city centre. Loved the opulent decor and the leopard print. Hopefully we will be back again as the food n service was so good. Dervla is a credit to Margot

One of the better cocktail offerings we visited in Belfast. The range of mixed drinks was small but very eclectic and all that we had was excellent. Atmosphere was lovely: very chill but lively and unique. Service was friendly and quick and there was some character to the waiters and servers. Variety of locals and tourists when we were there. There are a few different areas, we enjoyed the upstairs lounge that was quieter and had a smaller bar. Downstairs at the front easuch busier and full of folks eating. There are a lot of areas so you can choose what vibe suits you the most. Would visit again.

We visited Margot Belfast as two adults and one child, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, with generous portions and great flavor, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable considering the beautiful location. A great spot for both families and couples highly recommended!

My favourite cocktail bar in Belfast, by far. The food is great if you are not refused on the grounds of not having a specific food request booking. As I said, it is my fav cocktail place in Belfast so I didn’t want to insist (next time I will, though). I loved their Christmas themed cocktails and I just cannot wait to be back. The atmosphere is fantastic. And I believe I found my fav bartender at Margot - the guy who’s tasting the cocktails. I absolutely loved his dedication. If you are ever around Donegal Square, please pay a visit to Margot. You will not be disappointed.

I was here for birthday celebration and the staff were unreal - so helpful & attentive. Really great cocktails and charcuterie boards. The interior is fabulous too!

Great location, great atmosphere away from the busy Christmas markets. Cocktails galore, pints of Guinness were on point! Service and staff had a firm grasp of the floor - however when it gets busy it was all hands on deck for them. Seating numbers are grand but again when it gets busy prepare to stand. The interior design is awesome. Very lit up and cosy. I would definitely come back here for drinks again and would try the food next time as well. 8/10 great spot!

We were staying in the area and were looking for a place to have a drink after dinner. This place looked good from the outside, so we went down. It had a welcoming atmosphere, and there wasn't a huge queue outside, which appealed to us more than the competition. The average age seemed a bit more appropriate too, over 30, where as everywhere else was a bit younger. Great whiskey selection, friendly quick service too.
