    Visited fo ther first time in years as the food used to be great and as we've been struggling to fjnd a venue with decent home cooked food and good value for money. Unfortunately it has gone downhill and serves pretty much the same bland, poorly presented food which seems to be the standard everywhere now. Oven chips , boring unseasoned boiled veg etc.very Confused by the other good reviews tbh ? Unless it was the chefs day off ? Wont be back.

    We have just returned from an amazing experience. First impression was how clean the bar and restaurant was. We were a table of five with a variety of mains and desserts ordered and the team were professional yet maintained a sense of humour. I really can’t praise them enough. Thankyou so much for making the last meal of a two week stay so special!

    Booked a table for lunch with friends after a walk at Burrator. We all thought the staff were very welcoming and friendly, the food was excellent, and the Jail Ale delicious. Venison Burger special - so tasty, succulent, well seasoned - good size portions! Others in the party had Hunter's Chicken and Ham, Egg & Chips from the main menu and enjoyed them very much.
