Stars: Excellent Help from Ryan at David Lloyd Clubs Aspley Nottingham I had a fantastic experience getting my membership set up today thanks to Ryan. He was incredibly helpful from start to finishβhe took the time to call me, answer all my questions, and really made sure I understood everything I was signing up for. He even gave me a great tour of the club, which made me feel right at home. Overall, just a really nice guy and a super positive experience. Thanks, Ryan!

Broken steam room for a year now with peeling ceilings. Finnish sauna not ventilated and too small for amount of people. Empty bottles left in steam room. Toilet between shower room and swimming pool always stinks. Outside jacuzzi water is Filthy and very basic jet. As a comparison Nottingham leisure centre saunas and steam room much better, but price 2-3 times higher at DL. Water on the floor in the finnish sauna and also just outside, nobody cleaning. On the good side had great sessions. coaches are great. Gym has nice equipment. Liked outside pool. For the amount of money you paying, have to consider how many lessons you take to consider paying around 120 pounds worth it. Esp when you have to pay joining fee. 3/5

A great gym with great facilities and staff. Particularly James Foulk one of the tennis coaches who has helped me with my game. He's a lovely chap who you can have a laugh with but also knows when to be serious and is a good coach. I've learnt a lot and look forward to continuing my lessons with him. - David Lloyd Aspley.

Another Β£100 car parking charge for almost nothing. Honest review from a 4 year member. David Lloyds provide what they need to as a fitness and wellness centre. A large gym area, classes and a social area - but it is in fact as somebody else has commented, βtiredβ. I say this to compare it to other David Lloyds visited around the country and I believe we have the worst one and for the price youβre paying. Itβs not much worth it. Yes, staff are extremely friendly and helpful, but in terms of the overall aesthetic and attention to detail this David Lloydβs fails. The pool area is more than outdated with very small steam and sauna areas relative to the size of the fitness centre. They are constantly in and out of use. The social area is in much need of a renovation, and the food is subpar. I wouldnβt mind all of this is the prices align. But to top of all off they are hell bent on making an extra profit off parking charges. Iβm not sure how much they pocket out of this but Iβve been greeted yet again with another parking charge, this time of Β£100, for parking 30cm out of the lines. Iβm still a member because I enjoy the outdoor pool of which is 1 of 2 in Nottingham. Itβs the community that make the gym and not the gym itself. Step up now David.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I never write reviews but I had to this time because its genuinely sickening. I have tried to cancel my membership over a month ago, yet they are not responding to my emails or phone calls. On the rare occasion they do, they tell me to wait for a response from another team member, which I never receive and the cycle continues. I would not recommend this club to anyone!

Good gym. Plenty of different classes and court types. Enormous car park - very rare to see it completely full. Indoor and outdoor pool. The usual David Lloyd lounge, but increasingly tired decor compared to Derby. Cheaper than the clubs in Derby or Bridgford but they get more investment. Can get very busy around peak and changing rooms could do with an upgrade.

The club facilities are slightly above the councils; but inferior compared to virgin active or Nuffield healthcare (Not really worth the membership fees being charged because it's not very prestigious). The reception area is the only part of the centre thats been significantly updated, the rest of the club is set in the late 2000s era. The facilities aren't maintained particularly well; multiple flickering carpark lights; broken disabled shower; hole in the ceiling above the swimming pool; and what they choose to fix usually takes weeks. There aren't many benches in the male changing rooms; so expect a member to throw their dirty garments on your clean belongings whilst getting changed. I joined with my family and the family changing rooms are decent sized with a play pen in, sink / mirror, hair dryer, urine smell, broken shower holders and no soap. The staff turnover is relatively high; so some staff are extremely kind and helpful, whilst others lack any customer service or hospitality skills. In summer time the outside pool is amazing, so DL will do the Β£14 for 14days promotion and overwhelm the club facilities and restrict members entering. The sauna and steam room are small compared to the councils, but the courts appear decent. There's a children's play area which is very good, just beware of the grumpy members on their laptops (who choose to work in the noisiest area of the club instead of the adults area or at home) Overall score would be 60% - due to the club being expensive and out dated

Unprofessional and rude customer service. They give you misleading information on the phone to get your money but the reality is far different. And when you complain, itβs your word against them. No wonder they keep offering the non-refundable 14 days Β£14 to attract people, no one in the right state of mind would stay there more than that. Iβm pregnant and just wanted to use the swimming pool for 15mins relaxing walk in water for couple of days before having the baby, they left me with such an upsetting experience that I prefer to not go back there or even bother to complain. No one deserves to be treated poorly, I canβt prove but some serious discrimination going on there. :((((

We (a family of 7) have been members for past couple of years, on a platinum membership, the standard has been going down the drain week by week, half of the lockers are not functional, showers inadequate, water fountain broken for many many months now, and above all poorest, unprofessional and misleading customer service I have ever come across, after almost two years, they realised that the children on the membership should be downgraded to a lesser level membership and they just took the card away and re-issued a downgraded oneβ¦. But the most shocking thing is, that no one cares, no matter how much you complain, as if this organisation is completely without any supervision or scrutiny, such a shame and a great mistake to have joined and stayed for as long as we have. I know very well, that nothing will happen after this bad review either, I will soon be disputing the membership and get our money back, people keep saying they are stuck in the contract, you are not, go seek legal advice, and make a class action to end their arrogance.
