We dined in the restaurant last night 7pm, walk in, we were informed that they were busy and there would be a wait for food, we were not in a rush, only three tables full in the dinning room but we could see the bar was busy. We do understand, but while other tables were served and interacted with, we did not receive even basic customer service, we had to ask for our order to be taken, ask for drinks and ask for condiments, which were dumped on the table without comment or even a glance, or acknowledgment when we said thank you. We were made to feel like an imposition and not made welcome or valued as customers. Suffice to say we will not be visiting again.

Didn't stay but enjoyed a lovely Sunday dinner in the restaurant there. Quality and delicious ingredients. Nice ambience and friendly service too.

Lovely friendly greeting on arrival. Room very tastefully done. Good size comfy bed. I prefer the thiner quilt which was on as normally too hot in bed. Slept very well. I think they have banished the sensor light as we never encountered it. Slept like a log. Fridge in room with water, large orange juice and fresh milk . We had drinks in the very cosy bar that evening. Will be fabulous at Christmas time in sure. Bar staff amazing, very chatty and helpful and great choice drinks. We ate in the bar as restaurant was empty. It was a Tuesday night so not usually a busy time. We both thoroughly enjoyed our plates and i complemented the chef as been a while since ive had such good food anywhere. We scoffed the lot. Breakfast is continental and you do collect it the night before but we preferred this as could chill in bed all morning and eat at our leisure. We had 6 different types of danish pastries, croissants and choice of jam . Cereals, yogurt and bananas. Missed toast but i can live with that. Tea n coffee in room. Bed n breakfast for 1 night was a bargain at under £100 and thoroughly worth it. Will be coming again soon . Caroline and Matt Xx

2nd stay here. Modern and comfortable rooms and this time no step down to bathroom which we thought was dangerous but a step up! No sensor light this time which we was glad about as woke partner up on middle of night. Pub music seemed to go into midnight which is a shame when just above as noisy, should be switched off at 11pn. Much better 2md night. Was a little disappointed with the Continental breakfast that you had to pick night before and put on room fridge. Had to chase milk and cereal bowls twice plus a 2nd glass that should jave been in room anyway. Was told breakfast gets replenished but saw same pastries over 2 days, not much fruit and yogurt not replaced so couldn't have granola on 2nd morning. We usually stay across the road where breakfast is served next morning and options of hot which I get Wheatsheaf dont do even though you have a restaurant and first time we did pay for a cooked breakfast at the weekend. For same price we would return to other place unless Wheatsheaf was cheaper but it's about the same with no manned reception or room service. Overall comfortable stay.

Lovely food, surroundings and service. We ate in the restaurant. It was excellent. Slightly tricky getting out of the little carpark. I should have backed into the parking place!

Went for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed! We both had roast dinners and they were delicious. The portion size was perfect, we didn’t have to leave any (therefore wasting food) and meant we had room for puddings! Which were also delicious. This will be a new “go to “ restaurant for me and I would be extremely happy to recommend. The staff were lovely and just attentive enough without being at the table every 5 minutes and the atmosphere was really nice too.

The perfect stay. Nice and fun staff make you feel right at home. Pub downstairs and great little rooms upstairs. The rooms have great decor, the beds are comfy and the water pressure in the shower is awesome. They pack your fridge with a yummy continental breakfast (croissant with cheese, small chocolate croissant, oat bar, orange juice, shortbread and everything for tea). Book direct with them. It's a family owned business and I'm sure it would help them out. Explore the neighborhood for cute shops.

Perfect for an overnight stay. Our double room was stylishly and maybe recently decorated. Comfortable bed and secondary glazing meant a good night's sleep. Generous breakfast hamper and good selection of hot drinks in the room. There is no wardrobe in room 2 so it would help to add some hooks on or behind the door to have somewhere to hang coats. We stupidly left behind a phone charger and the helpful staff posted it back to us at their expense. The pub has a wide selection of cask and keg beer and cider and was busy and a nice spot for a couple of pints on the Saturday afternoon/evening we visited.
