What are all these bad reviews?! Honestly, I think some of these people were expecting the Ritz for £30/night. I've stayed in more expensive 8-bed dorm rooms. Personally, I had a great time here- good location, fab room (which was nice and warm with the heater on in winter), comfy bed. Unfortunately, on the last night, there was a couple arguing the whole night and then the fire alarm went off at 2am, but I slept through most of this because I brought earplugs with me. You can hear some base noise from the club downstairs but it wasn't that bad in my room. Shower was a bit tepid, but for £30/night it was manageable.

Not sure the bad reviews I think it’s a great value for money in a tight location to the sea, staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Clean and tidy. Not sure what else people expect

Do not stay at this hotel if you expect to sleep. Having stayed here before with no issues there just have been a new nightclub open in between visits. The music from below could clearly be heard and felt with no let yo until 4am.

Worst nights sleep I have ever had nightclub noise until 3am. Managed to change room for second night thanks to the really nice reception staff. There was not enough towels and no floor mat in the bathroom which meant the floor flooded and was very slippery.Would not recommend this hotel to anyone lots of people seem to be living here and a body was found on our level the day we arrived even though the police were still there the floor was not closed off and we found out about it on social media it was very upsetting.

It's a Travelodge. It was a last minute booking, which lengthened our overall break in and around the area. It served a purpose, but I really couldn't spend more than one night. It's a recently refurbished version of Travelodge, trying lo feel like a Premier Inn, but its still noisy. You can still hear doors banging and people outside shouting from bars that don't shut until the early hours. The room was warm in early October. No air conditioning. No fridge. The room was tight. No facilities on site, other than a vending machine. Not a problem as we intended on going out. We were a short walk from the port. Perfect as we didn't need to move the car. By the time you've paid for the room circa £100, 45 minute early check-in after a 6 hour drive £15, parking £15, it becomes an expensive evening. At the end of the day, it served a purpose, a bed for the night.

Rude Receptionist I have stayed in this hotel multiple times previously and have never had any issues whatsoever. However, on this occasion at my most recent stay, I have had a very negative experience. A friend of mine kindly had booked two hotel rooms for me and my relatives to stay. I received the booking confirmation and then arrived at the hotel to check in. As I was attempting to check in the receptionist named “Rickell” was beyond incredibly rude. She was repeatedly very arrogant and rude towards both me and my relatives. As a receptionist I would have expected her to be polite, respectful and professional. But she was neither of these things. She was extremely unprofessional and was disrespectful throughout our time communicating with her at the front desk. I felt as though I was being racially discriminated against based on the way that she was talking to me and treating me. She was very harshly spoken. Her tone of voice towards customers is very off putting. I felt very uncomfortable in this situation. I am very disappointed as I have stayed in this hotel on many occasions and have had a pleasant experience. This bad experience has ensured that I will no longer be staying at this hotel in future. I would politely advise that she may need more training in the near future to avoid this happening to other customers. In conclusion, no customer wants to or deserves to be spoken to in a disorderly manner. As a customer I felt very uncomfortable and disrespected. It is a very off putting experience to say the least. Like I have previously stated, I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and until now, I have never had a bad experience. I will be writing to all email addresses provided on the Travelodge website for customer use to ensure that other customers will not have the same experience that I have. Yours Sincerely, Mr Luke and Martin [This review is written by a customer and the message is being forwarded on by Ferne Hatherall, the person who placed the booking through this email address]

Apparently it's been refurbished recently. Certainly my room was in good condition, with kettle, teabags etc. But overall it was pretty basic. Disappointingly, breakfast is just a pre-packaged box, with cereal, milk, chocolate croissant and flapjack for £5.50. and there was nowhere nearby for an early cooked breakfast. The immediate vicinity was a bit bleak.

I've not stayed here since 2008. Highlighted to me because I went to the Gym. Last time I stayed here, it was perfectly fine. Cheap and cheerful. Had a good nights sleep. I can't imagine it's changed much, even in 14 years.

Quite dirty especially the extra pillows, I stay regularly with work and more often than not the spare pillows have mold on them as they aren't checked and it's a damp environment by the coast. The area is very run down and not very safe at night although close to the city centre. Reception are always quite abrupt but beds are comfy, room is generally clean although under the toilet is always dirty. It's no longer cheap here either so have tried to use alternatives as it really doesn't offer value for money anymore. I'm asthmatic and the mold on the pillows is quite a serious issue.

Breakfast to go as an option which is not worth that price and parking if done opposite to the hotel or council parking is nominal else costly. Otherwise the rooms are good and if you are looking to stay near the downtown area this is the perfect place to stay with everything present in walking distance. Desk and attendants are helpful.and someone at desk is always available to attend.
