This was our second time staying in the tallest hotel in Ireland, the GC. Here are our notes, top to bottom, everything we feel. -The Staff (will circle back) -The view from the rooms is spectacular. -The bed was huge and quite comfortable. We just came from the Giant’s Causeway (the other GC!), so we needed to rest our muscles. -Cupcakes on arrival if you’re celebrating your birthday, but maybe they should have given us four. -Such a Christmasy, welcoming, atmosphere… with approximately 12-14 Christmas tresses on the first floor alone. -The rooftop bar was splendid, a real place to feel glamorous. -First of all, a bath at 6am in pitch black lighting is highly recommended. However, the choice of lighting was not up to me, as there was no obvious source of electricity to be found. Our friend Lily at the front desk later informed us that there is a master switch beside the beds somewhere that controls everything. Just letting you know. A sign would have come in handy. -The night before, when we undressed after an exciting night on the town, we went to put on our soft, plush, luxurious, below the knee, classy, white, enveloping, all encompassing, crisp robes. To our mild inconvenience, there was a long, curly, dark hair strand, hanging on the front of the robe. We tossed it off and moved on. -There was a singular ghost lamp, in the corner by the door to nowhere, that never shined its own light. -LATE NIGHT DINING ISSUE OR TWO. Issue number 1, we know how long it takes to cook two croiq mouisseurs and a margarita pizza… 30 minutes max? -After we lingered in hungry silence, because we couldn’t cast anything to the TV in the room. Back to the two croiq mouisseurs which were quite dry, incase you were wondering, this was not by choice, as we had originally ordered a chicken thyme mayo and only one croiq moessusper! Pizza was good though. -Once upon a first shower, we were both sprayed in the eyeballs, as the shower instructions are unclear. Minor flood warnings in the bathroom as you shower, bath is great. -€5 charge for a bucket of ice, a new charge, which we were in dismay about once we ordered beverages to the room. We must admit, we demand attention as guests, and had many requests for the hotel, all of which were covered, besides a toothbrush which never showed but would have been highly appreciated. -Hairdryer ain’t never got hot for real. -Housekeeping were extremely eager, however, we picked the 2pm checkout (at a charge of £40). -There is no pool. All of these issues weighed on us as we sped down the 22 floors of the hotel. At exit time, we were disarmed by the kindness and penaiche of Lily, so didn’t get to fully digest all of this with her. We also didn’t want to be the kind of guests that hold up the reception queue. We were ecstatic to be informed by Lily, that Lily refunded us the £10 for the undelivered chicken thyme mayo, which then covered 1/4 of the late checkout fee! :) We left there with big smiles on our faces. Conclusion: Overall we enjoyed both of our stays, however, the second stay left more to be desired, but not down to any singular staff member of which all were a blast! SPECIAL SHOUTOUTs! Sunny brought so much light into our dark room when he delivered our beverages and £5 ice. Although our paths may never cross again, we really want him to know that he shines. We were drawn to receptionist Alex for his confident presence and hotel mosey. He answered every question we had with genuine enthusiasm. As for our friend/parental figure (although younger than us) Lily, we had the time of our lives at checkout. Last one, to our fellow guest Riba, we won’t talk much about this interaction, but we hope her arm heals quickly.

Shockingly poor level of service in the Grand Cafe . Take some lessons from your colleagues in The Europa - your Sister hotel . Gave the grand cafe a second chance today after a really poor level of service last Thursday. Staff standing about chatting at the bar with their backs to customers led my what appears to be senior staff. Following our meal the was table not cleared after our meal, no offer of desert, no offer of a second drink. Asked a waiter for the bill and he pointed at a girl at the reception station . Watched three sets of customers have to get up and get their own bill. We left and went to Europa. Better atmosphere and staff much more attentive . Grand Cafe is far from 5 star.

We stayed with friends last night. We were looking forward to staying here. Such a disappointment from start to finish. The check was took so long their systems were down wasn’t the reception staff fault at all They were trying their best to get us through the process as quickly as possible The service in the hotel was unexpectedly poor. We wanted to go up to the observatory bar were told they would call our friends mobile in 20/30 minutes still waiting for the call. We queued for breakfast for a long time. There was also people walking out of the queue it was so long. Breakfast was good staff at breakfast were probably the most helpful and professional in the hotel. It’s understandable a busy time of year for the hotel if you’re going to book out the rooms you need to be better prepared to provide a better service for paying guests. Wouldn’t be recommended sorry

We visited recently for Afternoon Tea and had the most wonderful experience. From start to finish we were made to feel very pampered and the service from the staff was first class. Special mention should be made about Ryan. He was positively charming. Nothing was too much trouble and he seemed to know exactly when we needed refreshed tea/coffee etc without being called upon. My niece is due her first baby shortly and he was so engaging when he spotted both her and the near life size balloon teddy. Ryan you were a star! We hope your Manager realises how lucky he/she is to have such a valuable staff member who ensured we will book a return visit.

My wife and I booked a night at the hotel as I we were going to a gig. On arrival at 13:30 our room was not ready the receptionist said we could leave our bags and come back which was nice. At 14:30 we returned and our room was ready. Check in was quick and easy even though there was a few people in front of us. We were upgraded to a Deluxe room 1710 which was great. When we got to our room the view was great the building next to the hotel is an office block so for privacy we had to close the curtains the view from the other side of the building overlooking city hall would be nicer. There was a slight stain on the carpet which was minor but unexpected. The room had a lovely bathroom with a shower and a bath and great toiletries. The furniture in the room were all matching and of a good quality as expected. The bed was massive but the base was 2 single beds joined and the matress was 2 single mattresses covered with a king-size sheet this meant that there was a rigid were the 2 mattresses met I am not sure this was 5 star luxury. In the corner of the room there was a door were the plumbing ran so you could hear water running. AC stopped during the night so room hot. Overall, a nice stay in a large spacious room with a good bathroom. I paid £162 for a standard kingsize room and I feel that even with the upgrade this was about the right price. I have stayed in many hotels in Belfast, and the Grand Central was good but not outstanding as I expected from a 5 star establishment.

Nice hotel but not all staff are helpful and friendly. I big shout out to Diana in the restaurant on ground floor though she was wonderful, friendly, polite, and efficient. We enjoyed our meal. They need to sort the door between the bedroom and bathroom. There is a frosted glass panel down the middle and a strip light under the sink that does not go off which lights up the bedroom all night because of the glass in the door.

Had a wonderful time at Grand Central Hotel Belfast. Went for afternoon tea at the very top floor of this beautiful Hotel. My son and his wife bought me it for my birthday. It was amazing such a lovely treat. The food was excellent and service was first class. I have never seen such a spectacular view of Belfast and beyond from numerous windows which you could view different parts of the city. I would definitely encourage everyone to pay the Grand Central Hotel a visit for afternoon tea.

I had the most beautiful time at the Grand Central hotel, the staff are incredible, the rooms are really clean nice, the city view room makes you see a little of the from the comfort of your room. The hotel is close (a trek able distance ) to the city centre. I loved the food from the hotel so much. I liked the Guinness bread a lot and the vanilla ice cream with honey comb

Best hotel in Belfast, stunning inside and out. The rooms are modern and well decorated, amazing views and 5 star service. Stayed a view times now and never had a bad experience. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Breakfast is always the best bit and all Hastings breakfast are as good as it gets.

Great hotel in Belfast. Perfect location in the heart of the city. I stayed in many hotels in Belfast over the years, but this is the first ever I felt like a hotel guest. The service was excellent on all levels, from the door to the room, and all around. I never felt so well looked after in any other hotels in Belfast. Worth staying, and worth top floors rooms.
