You get a warm, friendly welcome from Olive and her family. The rooms are well equipped and breakfast is a great opportunity to share stories with other guests. The location is well located in a quiet side street, but only a short walk to the Hoe, Brittany Ferries and the city centre.

I recently stayed for one night in the single room at the Mariners Guest House and I can't recommend it enough. Excellent location - walking distance to the city centre and nearby points of interest. A very warm welcome on arrival, a perfect comfortable little room with everything you need and such a lovely host. Olive was so helpful and friendly, I immediately felt at home. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. I would absolutely stay here again. Bonus was the opportunity to chat with Olive and find out about her fascinating life. Highly recommended.

Amazing place. I arrived and it was raining the lovely lady offered me an umbrella. Amazing service, I booked a single room and she gave me a double. Such lovely and friendly service. I will defiantly come back and this time bring the kids and the wife.

We had a great experience here, room was clean and everyone we talked to was super friendly. The location is also great for exploring Plymouth. As someone who's used to staying at chain hotels like Travelodge, it was refreshing to stay somewhere with a bit of heart.

The single room I stayed in was very small but other than that the building is lovely. Family run and you can tell. You're not going to get much better for the price, and the location is brilliant for tourism as you're right by the Hoe, and 10 minutes walk into town. Well stocked breakfast options too. The 5 stars are obviously still relate to the price - obviously don't expect more than a very homely and comfortable room, no gym or concierge etc lol.

Fab-u-lous! A real home-from-home welcome with lots of little extras that many places just don't think about (although some of these extras are charged for in bigger establishments, James and Marie make them part of the service). Very clean, well maintained, calming and relaxed decor and atmosphere. Breakfast is an absolute joy and James makes mean poached eggs!

We have stayed on four occasions and everything and I mean everything is brilliant and in particular the hosts James and Marie who are very welcoming, hospitable and with a ‘can do’ attitude. You cannot fault them in anyway. We would highly recommend a stay at The Mariners Guest House.

We enjoyed an overnight stay here a few weeks ago. The owners were very welcoming, the room was spotlessly clean and ideal for us. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty, and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely be staying here again.

The room and staff were brilliant. I stay in a lot of b&bs for work. This is the best so far. Bed is lovely and clean. All the little extras are brilliant. (Bottle of water plenty of tea sugar and even hot chocolates) Tv is a great size and is a smart telly. Breakfast is really nice with the extras you can have while waiting for the cooked main to come out. Can’t think of anything I would change here. Price is also great
