Beautifully decorated room, very clean. Ian and Jack were fantastic hosts, greeting us on arrival. Great location, close to all local shops, bars and restaurants, however, tucked away so nice and quiet. Thank you for letting us stay, will certainly consider staying again if in the area
Every award for these apartments is truly deserved. Jack, Iain and Gracie were wonderful hosts and we especially enjoyed giving morning chin scratches. To Gracie, not Jack and Iain. Every little detail has been thought of, from Neals Yard toiletries, a steamer, hairdryer to a huge selection of DVDs if you just want a night in. I would absolutely travel back to Tavistock just to sleep in that bed again. The decor is incredible, eclectic but cozy. We didn’t get to sample the breakfast but it smelled amazing. The location is walking distance to everywhere you might need in Tavistock. Family were staying elsewhere and were genuinely jealous of our accommodation. Jack & Iain made it feel like we were visiting friends rather than staying in an Airbnb. Thank you so much.

My second stay and my second review. Having booked somewhere else (Drake wasn’t available for all dates) I quickly released the error of my ways and after only one night, pleaded with Iain and Jack to accommodate us. Luckily they said yes and we moved in for our second and third night in Tavistock. We had two en-suite rooms in the main house first (amazing) and then the two bed apartment for the third night (AMAZING!). There isn’t anything I can fault. Iain and Jack know how to host, think of everything you could need and then add some lovely things you’d never think of. I won’t ever stay anywhere else. If you’re visiting Tavi or Mount Kelly, or even anywhere in Devon, don’t make the same mistake - just go straight to Drake!
Wow what a place to stay. The owners don’t hold back on making the guests comfortable and welcome. Great rooms and the guest lounge reminds me of a mix between No 131 with a twist of Soho house.. Quirky Quality, Eclectic Eccentric with wow wallpaper with fabulous fabrics all add to an Experience seldom seen in hospitality. One Drake would make a great party house for a family get together or just a chill out retreat for two. Fantastic Passion for detail and they have seriously raised bar that few could attempt to compete against. 6 out of 5 from me…
Best BnB we have been to in the country! A beautiful house, great breakfast, amazing host and at a great price. The only downside is that we only stayed one night! :)
Beautiful Townhouse with fascinating furnishings, art & books . We arrived on Boxing Day to the warmest of welcomes from Iain & Jack, they are superb hosts. Our bedroom was beautiful with delightful Neals Yard scents and classical music playing. We felt so at home and relaxed. Thank you Iain & Jack
Beautiful townhouse/former inn, tastefully decorated throughout. The property is well placed on the edge of the town centre, near enough to avoid any noise but close enough to stumble into the shops, restaurants or bars. I had a lovely cosy room ... I stayed over Christmas and my holiday season started the moment I crossed the threshold. Iain & Jack are superb hosts. My second stay and it won't be my last.
We absolutely loved it here. The furnishings are beautiful, and the whole building felt so cosy! Even the welcome book about the history was a lovely touch. Would definitely stay here again.
Iain and Jack were exceptional hosts going out of their way to assist us parking our rather large and luxurious car safely.We were 3 friends on our way to Cornwall and this was a perfect pit stop. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and convenient for the town centre. We took the option of the breakfast which we chose to take in the lounge. I doubt you could find anywhere better to stay in Tavistock. Thank you Iain and Jack
