Repeated issues with missing items and no accountability I've had a terrible experience ordering groceries through Uber and Just Eat. On multiple occasions, items have been marked as "packed" by the in-store shopper, only for them to be missing when the delivery arrives. Because the items are falsely ticked off as included, both Uber and Just Eat refuse to issue refunds. It's incredibly dishonest, and it's becoming a regular issue. There’s no proper system of checks, no accountability, and no protection for the customer. Extremely disappointing.

I’m writing this as both a regular customer and someone who lives next to this shop. I’ve visited many times and always respected the store policies — including providing ID when purchasing age-restricted items. On my first couple of visits, I was asked for ID, and I gave it without any issue. I understand that this is part of the store’s legal responsibility. However, I’ve noticed a very concerning pattern. One particular staff member continues to ask me for ID every single time I come in, even though I’m a familiar face and have already shown my ID multiple times. Meanwhile, I’ve seen other customers — who are not asked for ID at all — being served without question. These customers often appear to be of a different background than mine. This repeated, unnecessary request for ID feels like I’m being treated with extra suspicion — like I’m not trusted, even though I’ve done nothing wrong. It’s hard to ignore the fact that I’m the only one consistently being singled out in this way. And as an Asian customer, I can’t help but question whether this has to do with my race or appearance. This is where the issue goes beyond store policy. When one customer is treated differently over and over again — while others are not held to the same standard — it stops being about “following the rules” and starts becoming discrimination. This kind of pattern, even if unintentional, is a form of racial bias — specifically, implicit racism, where people are treated unfairly because of stereotypes or unconscious assumptions about their ethnicity. It’s not just uncomfortable — it’s hurtful. I live next door. I support this shop. I come here regularly. Yet I’m made to feel like a stranger, or worse, like a potential problem, every time I walk in. That’s not how any customer should be made to feel — especially in their own community. I’ve even started to record these incidents on video to document the difference in how I’m being treated compared to other customers. The footage clearly shows that I am consistently asked for ID, while others are not. I’m not sharing the video publicly at this time, but I’m keeping it in case I need to raise this further with head office or the appropriate authorities. I’m sharing this review not to attack anyone, but to raise a real and personal concern. I hope the management takes this seriously and ensures that all customers — regardless of background — are treated equally and respectfully moving forward.

Tragically understaffed. Staff that are usually there are friendly but the lack of them leads to long wait times making it basically impossible to go in on my way to work as I am often left waiting for 10 to 20 minutes before I even see a member of staff. Frustrating when in a rush.

Sign needs changing, open daily until 11... well its not, closes at 10 on Sundays. Close when you want but don't have an obnoxious glowing sign giving the wrong information.
