   Stopped by The Sportsman Stonehouse and had the Meat Feast Calzone...it was spot on. Loads of flavour, plenty of filling, and the dough was cooked just right. The price felt fair for the quality, the place was clean, and there is lots of parking spaces.The staff were really friendly (Louise and Taran) and welcoming, which made it a nice visit. I’d happily come back again.

   We arrived around 1:40pm to a very empty restaurant. We ordered at the bar and were recommended the festive deal so we proceeded with that. We decided to get our carvery whilst we waited for our starter to come out. After 20 minutes of waiting we decided to cancel the starters and pudding and ask for a refund as this was ridiculous. They fobbed us off with the excuse of ‘we have had a rush’ but the place was empty. It was excuse after excuse. Then OVER 30 MINUTES later they eventually come out with starters after us asking at least 10 times to receive reassurance that they were currently being made. It was only 2 prawn cocktails so not hard. We were so unhappy with this service and would not recommend. The potato’s were like cardboard. Hard and very dry. Other than that the food was okay I paid £3.95 for a Pepsi max to be given half a glass of ice after saying no ice. It’s a rip off to say the least. Will not be returning

   Sunday Breakfast 10/08/25 - THE VEGGIE SAUSAGES PLEASE PLEASE - Get an alternative "Veggie Sausage" option These were horrific on the plate. See the pic... it's not very appealing! For the other two of us, our breakfasts were "fine" - as it always has been. Cheap and cheerful - you get what you pay for. The loud dance music coming from the kitchen at 10am didn't give off a great impression to those who were queuing for the Buffet. The tables were a bit sticky and felt like the place could do with a good clean. I really don't like leaving bad reviews at all, so with a 3 Star Review I am being quite generous here. We left just as the Carvery was being served, and I have to say, it did look good.

   My partner and I often pop in for a beer for cheer as a getaway for the norm, we are Always met with friendly service from the staff. We love how nicely the outside area has improved! The new pizza menu is to die for and creative compared to the norm! We were fortunate enough to be served by Alliyah! She has an awesome attitude towards the job and always willing to suggest the chefs best! We always eat and drink more than we should! See you again soon!

   We ordered Traditional Carvery and I rate them 5 ⭐️. The beef; gammon and Turkey were freshly roasted. And unlimited vegetables to pair with! The only downside is that the restaurant/pub interior. Needs to be redecorated?! But otherwise, the service and the staff were great!

   Great for both an individual and family lunch out. Good food and variety of options to choose from. I will definitely come back again. Good customer services as well. Free live sports. Cons: please double the sausage to match the other meats on the plate.

   They have a new enthusiast manager who is friendly and was very helpful with looking after my elderly father with dementia. His flexibility was much appreciated … and the quality and standard of food superb for the price. Look forward to returning!

   Not the best stonehouse restaurant/pub we've been to. We went for breakfast and the fried bread was over done. Plus there was no breakfast pizza or tomatoes... Every other one I've been to does it? Staff were friendly. Toilets required some tlc, the floor was uneven, had puddled water and the vinyl was coming away from the edges on the floor.
