Had a very enjoyable dinner. The service was excellent; friendly, professional and relaxed. Good menu with something for all tastes. The atmosphere was just right, not too loud but a good energetic buzz. Not inexpensive but reasonable value.

We came to the restaurant/gastro pub and got a great table. We had our eyes on some items on the menu but got a recommendation from the waitress to try a pie to share. That hit the mark. Beautiful pie. Great wine and atmosphere. We stayed in Brighton but Hove is an easy 20 min bus ride away. This place is well worth the trip.

Genuinely maybe the best 3 course meal I've ever had, booked the function room for a surprise 30th and was genuinely unbelievable. We had Riccardo (might be slightly wrong) but couldn't have asked for any more. It is slightly on the more expensive side but one million % worth it if you want the full experience. Food and service both 10/10

I had a fantastic meal at The Ginger Pig. The pork belly was the highlight — crispy skin, perfectly cooked layers of meat, and a light apple sauce that balanced everything really well. I also loved the use of barley in the dish, which made it even more satisfying. The staff and bar manager were friendly and attentive throughout the night, and the ambience was great — relaxed, warm, and welcoming. Overall, amazing food and lovely service. I’ll definitely be back!

We stayed here for the weekend as part of our friends wedding in the local area. The room we had was lovely and a well stocked mini bar plus tea and coffee which was great! Also very clean. They serve great cocktails and the Barman Edi was knowledgeable and friendly. We had breakfast here both mornings and the omelette was insane! Hashbrowns were the best I’ve ever had too! The guy who I think was the manager was so helpful and friendly during the entire stay. A lady served us for breakfast on the first day but she seemed like she couldn’t really be bothered with us which was the only negative.

We have on various occasion’s visited the Ginger Pig. We have noticed on the last 3 that the service and food has definitely gone down hill. I don’t normally write reviews but I feel that this is justified on this occasion. We were busy for Mother’s Day so I took my mum out the following week for a celebration. She had roast pork which was cold. My son had roast beef which he couldn’t cut up as it was too tough and fatty. My husband and I shared a slow cooked roast lamb shank for two which cost £38 it came on a big plate with a very very small shank of lamb on it with 2 carrots sliced with a purée of cheese. We weren’t given anything to serve it with so I had to use my cutlery. The lamb was so fatty that we hardly had any meat. The outer part of the lamb was over cooked and some of the vegetables were under cooked. The only saving grace were the roast potatoes which are always good. We feel very disappointed for a meal that in total cost over £140 we will not be returning.

Just had the most amazing Christmas Eve three course meal. The food was absolutely amazing, the three of us thought the quality of the food was impeccable. Our starters were delicious my duck was cooked to perfection, the sweet potato and ginger soup went down like a dream too. The pheasant was delicious, and my friends enjoyed the steak. Service was perfect, it was lovely and Christmassy. I can’t wait to return soon, thank you team for making out Christmas Eve very special. Merry Christmas

First visiting on a. Sunday and was not disappointed. Probably the most excellent service I've received at a restaurant in a while. The staff were polite, friendly, efficient, made us feel really welcome and were extremely attentive. Totally professional! The food was also delicious! I couldn't fault it. Will definitely be back.

A lovely birthday lunch! Nicely decorated, pleasantly full, cheerful - but enough about me - though these descriptors also apply equally to the Ginger Pig gastropub in Hove. Great food menu - good solid tasters, starters, mains and puds. Great steaks. Items emerge very well cooked, neatly presented, tasty, in good time and with a smile. Wines - by glass or bottle - and cocktails nicely eclectic. Service friendly and attentive. Really worth a visit/detour! Recommended.
