   I am disappointed with the vindaloo dish. Basically I think they made it today using powder rather than fresh as the sauce felt stale and tasteless. They were very busy and so I believe that might have been the reason. On the other hand however yesterday I ordered jalfrezi and I must say the dish was the most fresh and tasty Indian dish I had eaten in ages …

   Ashoka was an amazing experience with incredible Indian food and outstanding service. What really made the visit special was Das — he was super friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. His warmth and positive attitude truly stood out and made the whole experience even better. The service was excellent overall, and it’s clear they really care about their customers. I highly recommend Ashoka, especially if you’re lucky enough to be served by Das!

   The Asoka has been our favourite Indian restaurant in Hove for many years. We particularly like the speciality dishes. I think we've worked our way through most of the extensive menu and every meal has been great. Highly recommended.

   Dined in with a few people the other day. Service was simple, but effective and for a Friday night, had a decent vibe. I had the Chicken Tikka Dhansak, was was decent, My friend had the Ceylon and enjoyed it, and says it tasted good. My Mrs had a truly horrible sweet curry that may I have been the worst curry I’ve ever tasted. Probs wouldn’t go here again to be honest but worth a quick scran if everywhere else is busy.

   Ashocka by name a shocker by nature - literally one of the most disappointing takeaways I’ve ever had. “Pakoras” are breaded chicken. Shamee kebabs have clearly been frozen since the late 90s. Saag paneer was ice cold - like out of the fridge cold. I’ve ordered this takeaway as a pre-valentines treat for my wife and it is honestly the coldest, driest, least flavoursome, most disappointing meal I’ve ever paid actual money for. To be fair though they did give us 5 bags of wet salad for free.

   I would contend that Ashoka is not only one of the best Indian restaurants in Brighton, but Probably one of the best in the country. The chefs here really are a cut above. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, wonderful ambience, all in all a beautiful restaurant. I highly recommend.
