Such a nice staff really friendly always with nice smile. The food is really delicious I love it. The environment inside the restaurant so calm, nice srilankan decorated calm music. I will be coming back soon I love it
We just had a truly wonderful dining experience at Moonstone and simply had to share it. This restaurant in Brighton is an absolute gem, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Every dish we tried was bursting with amazing flavours and felt so fresh. The staff were really nice and the price was so convenient for the incredible quality and generous portions. I felt the meal was exceptionally good value. We will definitely go back.
We are Sri Lankan and were so happy to find such an authentic restaurant in Brighton. The owner was incredibly friendly and chatted with my son about cricket, which made us feel right at home. He was very accommodating and specially prepared a few milder curries for the kids — the kids even said it tasted just like their Archi’s (grandma’s) curry! We were also offered a few new dishes to try, which was a lovely touch and showed the pride they take in their food. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and genuinely authentic. Highly recommend to anyone looking for real Sri Lankan food — we’ll definitely be going back!
Had been passed this restaurant a few times and seen it was always busy, looked at reviews and seemed impressive so we gave it a try. Very impressed. Tasty food, Sri Lankan being surprisingly different to Indian. Very friendly service from the young staff. Overall, excellent, will definitely visit again..
Had the food here recommended by a few people. It didn't disappoint. Really enjoyed the chicken roll for starters. The lentil rolls were tasty but a little dry. The aubergine ratatouille was almost sweet and sour. I really enjoyed the devilled chicken and chicken rice. Friendly staff and prompt service. Ate with people who'd travelled there who felt it was very similar to food they had experienced in Sri Lanka.
Highly recommended! We travelled from Bournemouth to Brighton and for NYE but also my best friends birthday. We wanted authentic Sri Lankan food and Moonstone did not disappoint. I could not fault the service or food. Being Sri Lankan myself it was a real treat to taste the amazing food on offer. We will be back and thank you to the team for an amazing meal
Food was amazing. We shared lentil patties and mango salad to start.. perfect combo. Then chicken curry, beetroot curry and garlic rice... all absolutely delicious as was the cheesecake. We had exactly the right amount of attention from the staff. I can't believe this place isn't busier
The food at Moonstone reminds me of something that would be served by my Granny - fresh and delicious; authentic food cooked with love. We were back with friends last night; and were delighted to find the food even more exquisite and the staff even more welcoming and attentive. I highly recommend the 'Wattalapan' dessert as a perfect way to finish off ones meal, the scents alone will transport you to the beautiful island of Lanka.
As newbies to Sri Lankan cuisine, it was a great 1st experience full of flavour. We will be back……. Service helped too to make some choices. Thanks
