   This is hands down the best Thai food in the area. I’ve been here a few times and the lady who runs the place is so friendly and kind, she recognises her frequent customers! Good for takeaway or to eat in. If you’re eating in it is a good idea to book as they do get busy particularly on Friday and weekends. The food is smashing, it’s authentic Thai food, the pad Thai hits all the right spots. We had the massaman beef and it had so much beef and flavour we ended up taking half of it home! The coconut rice is amazing and the sticky rice is perfect - always get sticky rice if you’re getting a curry!

   I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Zap Thai in Bury St Edmunds. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming and full of energy. The staff genuinely look after you here — nothing feels rushed, everything is done with a smile, and they take the time to make sure you’re comfortable and enjoying your visit. It’s the kind of service that really stands out and makes you want to return. The food itself is exceptional. Every dish tastes freshly made, full of bold flavours and authentic Thai character. You can tell a lot of care goes into the cooking, from the balance of spices to the presentation. The ingredients tasted fresh, the portions were generous, and the quality was consistently high across everything we ordered. It’s the sort of place where you can try something new each time and trust it will be good. Overall, Zap Thai is easily one of the best places to eat in Bury St Edmunds. Great food, great people, and a great experience every time. Highly recommended.

   I can’t say enough wonderful things about this little Thai gem. From the moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in the kind of warmth and comfort that makes you feel like you’ve been invited into someone’s home—and in many ways, you have. Pom, who runs the restaurant, has a way of greeting you that instantly lifts your day. And the food— every dish tastes like it’s been prepared with love, tradition, and respect for authentic Thai flavours. You can taste the care that goes into everything coming out of that kitchen. I highly recommend the mixed starters and the pad thai. It’s rare to find a place that feels this personal and this delicious at the same time. Pom has created something truly special. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food served by someone who genuinely loves sharing it, this is the place you’ll want to keep coming back to.

   We just walked in and were welcomed and fussed over. Staff lovely. As for the food!! Incredible. The menu is perfect, the portion size is perfect and the flavours are perfect. So many flavours on your plate. Service was speedy but no pressure to finish. Will definitely return on our next visit.

   I really enjoyed my visit. The restaurant was clean and staff friendly. I had chicken satay then stir fried spicy beef with basil. Both nice and hot and fresh. I really liked these. Just like being back in Thailand. I will come again.

   Absolutely beautiful authentic Thai food I have ever tasted! We went for lunch and had their set lunch menu which to be honest was undercharged so ordered more sides, portions where generous, the service very friendly team so welcoming. The atmosphere is calm, chilled with eye catching decor. Love their fresh green chilli plants they grown along side the windows. We had, Pad Thai, Green Curry for mains, prawn and chicken dumplings for sides, satay chicken skewers for starters. Absolutely delicious definitely coming again.    We went there on our anniversary, it’s absolutely outstanding. The food is delicious, best Thai I’ve ever had in England. This is proper Thai dish ! Both me and my husband have been living in Thailand for over 7 years. And we absolutely love this restaurant! The chef clearly puts enough love in his dish, and this is how Thai food should be. Flavour is so deep and nice! We will 100% come back.
