   Another amazing time had The Sun Inn, Hardingstone 14 of us, which included 6 children attended The Sun on Saturday 13/12/25 for a festive gathering, with all of us opting for the festive menu As is always the case at this venue, we received a very warm welcome & shown to our table by Alice Once our party has all arrived, Alice notified the kitchen & within minutes, we has all been served hot, fresh & delicious meals with absolutely no complaints from anyone in our group Our Waitress's were incredibly efficient, ensuring that our tables were regularly cleared of plates & glasses & they checked in with us every so often to ensure we were happy. Furthemore, at no time did we ever feel pressured to vacate our table, which led to a thoroughly enjoyable & relaxed occasion Suffice to say, it is with confidence that I commend the team at the The Sun, Hardingstone, whom, from the initial booking (some 5 weeks ago) to the time that we left the venue, were nothing but outstanding. A huge cry also goes out to the following staff for making this occasion so special; Grace, Hollie & Chantelle for managing the original booking & for checking in with me on the odd occasion to make sure there were no changes & that everything was ok Sienna, Jess & Sheobe for looking after us on the day I also wish to thank the kitchen team, in particular Mustfa for serving up some incredibly amazing & delicious food for us all. The presentation of the food was superb & above all, we all thoroughly enjoyed it, including the children who all had Burgers! The kitchen team & Chefs are invaribly the unsung hero's of any hospitality establishment & Mustfa is clearly a credit to The Sun & the wider McManus team for preparing & serving up some incredible meals. So on behalf of our party, thank you Mustfa & please keep up the great work, it really is appreciated by me Finally, I also had the opportunity to meet with Gretta, the new General Manager who was incredibly welcoming & warm & someone who clearly brings a breadth of experience to the role, so I wish you well in your new role Gretta, as I sense that The Sun & your fantastic team there is most definitely in safe hands In the meantime, many thanks to you all & best wishes, Kevin H PS If I left any off the roll-call, please pass along my thanks to them too! :)

   I like the Sun Inn and go regularly so was happy to book for 2 for their xmas meal. On arrival the pub was very very busy which is great in these uncertain times but we were shown to a table less than 2 metres from the front door and in the main walkway for customers and staff serving. It was draughty and not very atmospheric or christmassy. Our food was late coming out although pre ordered and my starter the salmon pate was delicious, however my turkey roast was not very exciting. Brown meat, nicely done and tasty with badly roasted, hard and pale roast potatoes over pale parsnip and carrot. No greens! Covered in brown gravy, not a feast for the eyes. My friend had the terrine and then salmon on a bed of green beans with some potato. That looked stunning. We paid 31 pounds each for this xmas fayre and i wasn't impressed. I will not be having xmas dinner at the sun again and had a better turkey dinner the day before at a greene king for a third of the price. If the Sun doesn't have enough room for 2 guests then they should put me onto a different time or day, not just shove a table in an awkward space to accomodate me. The staff in general were as usual v good but rushed off thdir feet and we felt a little patronised by the hostess at the door who suggested we pull our crackers, get our hats on and laugh at the jokes!

   Me and my team met for a terrarium workshop (external deliverer) and The Sun Inn were so flexible and hospitable to enable us to do this in The Barn - it was beautifully festive and a perfect team building and wellbeing session, followed by a fabulous Christmas Fayre. Special thanks must go to Chantelle for being so accommodating and supportive of us as a Charity too. Great communication and understanding for our unusual request. The perfect venue for what we needed, amazing food and service too! Thank you.

   An impromptu visit for a Sunday roast today has left us very happy! We were greeted straight away and seen to a table even though we hadn’t booked. The waitress was attentive and friendly which made our visit even better. Our food was amazing- we had nibbles to start with which were delicious, followed by a Sunday roast where the meat was cooked to perfection, it was presented beautifully and everything on the plate had so much flavour. This is definitely a hidden gem in Northampton and we can’t wait to return. Thank you so much for making our day!

   We visited The Sun Inn for a meal and drinks on a Friday evening. We'd won a meal for 2 with wine voucher in a raffle so thought we'd have a bit of a date night. Unfortunately on arrival we discovered that we had booked our romantic night out on the same evening they were holding a Sixth Formers party. The pub was heaving and there was a band on. Thankfully as we'd pre-booked we were given a nice table in a cosy corner. But the band playing for the party were so loud we could hardly hear ourselves speak. Obviously this is not the fault of the pub, it's just unfortunate our romantic night out didn't work out as such. As the pub was so busy, service was quite slow.It was a good 15 minutes before someone took our drinks order and another 15 minutes before they were brought to our table. Food was also slow coming out but when it did it was very good. We ordered a portion of nachos to share as a starter and they were honestly the best nachos I've ever had. Fluffy but crunchy and absolutely loaded with toppings. It was then another long wait for our mains to come out. Again, worth it though as the food was delicious. My husband had a steak and I had swordfish. Both meals were cooked to perfection and very, very tasty. We didn't bother with desert as nothing really took our fancy so we asked for the bill. Overall we had a night out, some nice wine and some delicious food. We will definitely be returning, just hopefully on a quieter evening next time!

   Came here for my Christmas party. There is access but there are steps that could be a challenge with a wheelchair, however because it was dark couldn't spot an additional entrance. They do have a huge garden out back for kids. The ambience of the restaurant is welcoming. As a pub they had a good selection of drinks available. So why the low score? The starters were not the best reflection of cuisine. The buffalo wings feel like they were over baked and that crunchy texture you would expect was missing. There was no orange buffalo sauce or blue cheese dip served with it. Super disappointed with the home made hummus, tasted of olive oil... And that's it no lemon no tahini no flavour just olive oil spread. The flatbread was rubbery, like stale bread put through a toaster it not long enough to solidify or it was microwaved. The main meals were ok, I had the pork belly turned out to be pretty good, crackling was a little thin you would expect it to be more fluffy. Steak was good. Bangers and mash were good. One of our party did not like the pasta with mushroom and cream sauce... Described it as pasta mushrooms and single cream no other flavours. So in all a disappointing experience.

   Really good food, really good selection of drinks. Service was friendly, they were pretty slammed so some small errors were made. We were a group of 8 and the seating arrangements for a booked table were quite tight, could probably do with removing a couple of tables. Have been here in the summer and the beer garden was fab. Will definitely go here again.

   We eat and drink here regularly. It’s lovely cosy and sometimes lively pub. Good food, and the staff are always friendly and quick to serve. This year we had our work Summer BBQ here. The manager, Danni was so helpful and patient with my ever changing needs. The food provided was fantastic. We’ve never had such good finger food left over at the end. There was so much of it and it kept coming out. Thanks Danni and staff.

   Nice little pub with lovely decorations. We had Sunday roast here. Food portion is quite small. Roast pork only has a couple of thin slices of pork. The carrot was not properly cooked. The Yorkshire pudding is quite nice. Burger looks nice. Desserts and hot drinks are nice. Friendly staff and one of our food was delayed as they missed the order.
