This place is incredibly original, very spacious, and has a wonderful large terrace. I absolutely love the red lighting it creates such a unique and atmospheric vibe. The food is delicious, especially the Pad Thai, which tastes exactly like the one in Thailand. Highly recommended!
I heard The Hare and Hounds had a new chef and had started their Sunday roast lunches again so decided to pay a visit. I ordered the rolled pork belly, which was cooked to perfection – tender, full of flavour, and with beautifully crisp crackling. The roast potatoes were golden and fluffy inside, and there was plenty of rich, tasty gravy to bring everything together. The fresh seasonal vegetables were a lovely touch and added great balance to the plate. My partner doesn't like carrots so had some extra greens and potatoes which was a thoughtful touch. My other friends had the chicken supreme and they were equally impressed – they told me the chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the preparation here. A special mention to Phoebe, who looked after us throughout the meal. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Her warm approach really added to the experience. Will definitely be going back for more!
Lovely Sunday roast! Great for vegetarians and vegans with the nice beetroot wellington. Will be coming again with my family for the great atmosphere!
Really good selection of beers on tap. We had the Lunch meal was really nice, some of the nicest Thai food I've ever had! The Pad Kra Prao was very authentic. Only £13.50 for starter and main for lunch is hard to find in brighton, especially for something of such great value! Overall a really lovely experience with friendly staff, will definitely be returning.
We went in to have a Sunday Roast. We were the only ones there. Ordered a roast and oh man it was bad! … It was the worst Sunday roast I’ve ever had. So so bad we couldn’t even finish it. The gravy was black running water like and potatoes weren’t roast they were boiled… it was spicy and just tasted so so frozen…. We paid and left the food after a few bites so don’t waste your money. Ps: two girls at the bar were lovely and very polite and friendly. Not their fault the food was terrible. I’ve never left a Sunday roast on the plate until now. I eat everything and this was unbeatable. That was £23 wasted
Nice pub, music was a bit loud for some older ears! Good selection of beers on tap. Food menu is interesting but didn't eat. Great interior, the lamps made from beer kegs especially!
I was surprised to see the Amsterdam so empty considering it’s a Sunday and we’ve been here before when it’s been rammed. That said we had a really lovely roast, mine pork and my wife’s roast turkey, the only reason I haven’t given it a 5 rating was because it still took 30 minutes plus for our meals to arrive and there was only one other table where we were sat, it was pretty empty. Bar staff friendly as was our waitress...all in all a very pleasant meal and fairly inexpensive. We will return.
Sweet lord of Sunday.. Genuinely one of the best beef roasts I've had in years. It took a while to turn up on a busy Sunday,(to be expected) but it was well worth the wait... And the weight!! A huge portion, perfect crispy roasties, great big slices of beef, green beans and veg and a big Yorkshire pud too. Awesome braised red cabbage and a surprise breadcrumbed parsnip to top it off. Do it!
Lovely pub with great, friendly staff. Great character building with a lovely beer garden. Also great for private hire and sports upstairs! Amazing Thai food, with an incredibly priced lunch deal. Hugely recommend.
