My family have been patrons of the Bear for years. They supportes the wake of my father and due to some fmaily issues they have managed at extremely short notice to accommodate a wake for me uncle as well. Highly recommend them.
Definitely a go to. A nice atmosphere and well decorated making it feel homely. Staff are brilliant and have a cracking sense of humour a great place to have a drink and a laugh. Karaoke on a Saturday which is great always a fun night! Quiz on a Sunday a great way to end the week. Will always return ☺️
The food is shocking! Don’t get it. A staff member agreed when she came to collect it but no offer for a refund at all. Waited 40 minutes for it too. It was around £10 a dish too which for the size and quality was shocking. I couldn’t finish it and neither could my friends. The drinks were good and it was friendly. Bar staff and kitchen clearly didn’t get on though. The outside area has the potential to be nice but needs so outside heaters. See also the picture of the edging in bathroom, clearly could do with some TLC. We won’t be returning

Did you know this pub comes with its own car park? I didn't, realise that the a double yellow curb on corner can be used to park on and block all its usage by those with prams and families. Well done management for allowing your patrons to take advantage of the free parking!
Pub who doesn't care about a community they are in. There are cars, (either employee or customer) parked on pavement/double yellow + corner every single weekend as well as during the week. Not only illegal but also disgraceful to families who are trying to walk past and it is hardly managable as little space is left. Owner should care a bit more what's around rather than his pub.
I’ve loved having a beer with friends before a night out in the bear it’s located on the Lewis road so it’s easy to get to the clubs or restaurants at a quick pace. Friendly service and happy smiles, you can find this pub ironically at the bottom of bear road. The proof is in the pudding and this pub has been around for decades watching other pubs fall by the wayside so it must be doing something right.
