£23 for two double gins and tonics - £11.50 each and just the most basic tonic from the tap. They are £7 in the Green Door Store. And, horrible disposable plastic glasses - so many places are now doing reusable ones. It's not a fancy or particularly interesting place either.

I was in this pub yesterday with a group of my friends. I walked over to a man sitting at the bar and politely asked if I could leave my jacket behind him with other people’s jackets. This man then grabbed me and squeezed my arse. I did not give him consent to do this nor did I give any indication that I was “interested” in him. This man was probably in his 40s and I am 23. His entitlement to my body was shocking and as a fully grown man he should know better. After this incident I went outside with my friend to discuss what happened. He informed me he would speak to the security however they did not do anything about the incident. I tried to return to enjoy my night but the man now was dancing in the middle of the room and when he clocked I had returned he stared at me in an attempt to intimidate. I was forced to leave due to feeling too uncomfortable. It should have been that horrible man who had to leave. As a venue I like east street tap , the staff are friendly, the music is great and there is usually a good crowd of people. However last night I felt failed by the venue and it has now dampened my overall opinion of the establishment.

Denied entry by the door supervisor for the crime of being on my own....well that's certainly a new one on me. On approaching the entrance a little after midnight, one of the doormen asked for my ID. Given I'm a large 39 year old man i was a little taken aback. However having worked security adjacent for a long time i know it's helpful to confirm patrons have ID so if there's a problem later you can be confident that they can be identified. However, after producing my driving licence for inspection said bouncer then asked "Are you on your own mate?" I quite clearly was so replied "yes" of course only to be told. "Yeah mate can't do it I'm afraid" taken aback and well aware that arguing with door staff is invariably fruitless i wandered back to my hotel. I should be clear i wasn't denied entry due to inebriation. I'd had 3 pints of lager having only left the hotel at 9:30. No idea why being on my own was a problem. Discriminated against because of my gender? I mean I'm hardly part of an at risk group, but too many dudes in the bar? At any rate, disappointing that management supports this exclusion. Doubt I'll return.

Great Rock Oriented bar to find in the centre of Brighton. There are not enough of these venues left and if you are into rock you should support these types of bar at any opportunity! A large range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages available, friendly atmosphere, with great staff!

Nice Pub located right in Downtown Brighton. Low ceiling and sticky floor inside which makes the experience „interesting“. Staff was friendly and outside are benches as well to sit down.

Stumbled across this place randomly and had a really fun night out. Punk/rock atmosphere but everyone is super friendly. Prices are fair and staff at the door are really nice. Would go back

It has been a long time since we visited this venue. Old school interior, with brickwork visible Tables are extremely worn, giving it its tired look. Totally 100% Vegan menu. Quite expensive, and no picture of what the food looks like. What is it with the 6.5 not 6.50. A pet peeve. Music is hardcore metal, thrash style This is why I gave this venue a 3. In all we should be thankful that these venues are still open.
