We visited for Sunday Roast and wow we were not dissapointed. Great choice of meats our table opted for 3 x lamb and 1 x pork with sides of pigs in Blanket and cauli cheese. Portion was incredible great fluffy but soft yorkshire 5 potatoes carrots cabbage green and red and swede puree. Beautifully presented and hot. All great flavours. We will defo go back.

Such a gorgeous pub restaurant, I'd have no hesitation recommending their Sunday Roasts because they are out of this world! I had the lamb which was cooked beautifully and the Yorkshire pudding was massive! Book in advance because it's really popular but you can call on the day for last minute spots if you're lucky. They have lots of different spaces including an upstairs area and the whole place has a strong railway theme with cute decor and nods to their heritage. The pub is very popular and gets very buzzy with noise and probably wouldn't suit anyone with auditory sensitivities or wider sensory concerns - it may well just be Sundays though. It's a lovely, friendly vibe with helpful efficient staff. Service is prompt and you're asked if you'd like any extra sauces with your meal. Highly recommend, very easy to get to on the train!

Usually you need to book. But... as it was a sunny sunday I felt like a Sunday funday roast lamb day so managed to sit outside at the back, in the ☀️. As you can see this roast did not disappoint. Meat was tender and portions was pleasable. One dig I must point out is that the cauliflower cheese portion that size would've been demolished solo if if it had a burnt crispy layer on top, it was just a bit meh and samey. Other than that it was great meal and really enjoyed it. Would recommend.

The Railway is a lively pub, in a convenient location for bus, train or taxi. The atmosphere is great with speedy bar service. Their Sunday roasts are to die for and the 2 for 1 burger night is not to be missed!

We used the function room at The Railway for my boyfriend's 40th and it was just perfect. It has its own bar and is such a nice venue within a really great pub. We dealt with Lucy and she couldn't have made the process any easier, she was a delight! We are before the party started and the food was really good too. A great pub!

Delicious all round. Nice staff. Fantastic roast. All quality, delicious ingredients. 10/10. Return in a heartbeat. Good value. Just fabulous. Everything we look for in a roast and more. Also a delicious, creamy smooth rich cauli cheese, out of shot. 100% recommend.

The quiz night is great, the food is excellent, as are the surprisingly wide variety of bar snacks. The beer selection is really good. They pretty much always have two different Ascension Ciders on tap, as well as some more regular ones, which is great. I don't know I'd have gone were it not for the quiz night, but now I'd definitely make a special journey to go here over somewhere closer, it's just a really really good pub.

What a nice pub! This is not your typical country pub, but it's still a great venue. Located right next to Portslade train station on a busy high street (often with railway crossing congestion) it is well located for a quick cheeky pint and a burger after work or a Sunday roast. There is an sizeable outdoor area, a few function rooms and lots of space for dining. It even has an icecream bar. The only downside is there is no parking, but the station car park is accessible for a small fee, and it is on numerous bus and train routes.
