   I had the great good fortune to go to The Tipsy Easel event at The Rose last night. I didn't know what to expect but I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. There was a lot of talented people there and I felt very privileged to join them. I'm no artist but I do like sketching and to do so in good company and a safe place was delightful. It was amazingly good value for money: £10 including a drink and all materials provided. Dawn, her staff, Paula (who led the event) and my fellow artists all combined to make a great evening. Being able to use different mediums to draw was a new experience for me but I felt encouraged to use different things. I'd like to do more. Thanks very much

   The Rose has a deli counter where you can buy cheeses, cold meats, pork pies etc. Pay £1 per person and they serve up your deli items on a board with crackers and chutney. What you don't eat, you take home. We had a lovely little catch up with our friend in the relaxing courtyard. We drank Aspel's cider, clearly the best quality draft cider around, (it's so disappointing that so many pubs have switched to the inferior Inches) and what could have been nicer than than a round if cheese and biscuits to finish the session. The pub is dog friendly and the staff worked hard to ensure everyone had an enjoyable visit.

   Nice real ale and craft ale place, some quality beers. Also had a Pizza which was fantastic. The craft I had was £7.80 a pint, so a bit on the pricey side!! They weren't all that price so worth a visit if you're a beer enthusiast.

   Its a good pub, we tried to go back the following day but it was closed at about 4pm when it said opening at 3 on the door. We all went to the trafford instead which was open. Edited to a five star from three as we tried to go there on a sunday when its closed. I checked google maps timeline and we were waiting like plonkers outside for about 30 mins. So it is a great pub but just not open sunday or monday. Sorry for the initial 3 stars, that was my stupid error.

   Great real ale pub with enough to excite most lager folk. Dog friendly with tables booked for the purpose. Central enough to Norwich to make it universally accessible. From just one visit : pizza choices goid but both undercooked. Clientele socially respectable tending to middle class. Bar billiards - deserves extra points for such. Decoration in the modern style well executed but not amazing. Could do with changing the rusty rad in the gents. Definitely a place worthy of a number of revisits. 'Beers coming up', behind the bar a great positive. Overall loved it and will return
